Research Of Shear Bond Strength Between Oxide Ceramics And Resin Cements

Objective:The purpose of this study was to confirm which is the best cement to each oxide ceramics by comparison of shear bond strength between oxide ceramics and three resin cements in order to choose the best bond agents of different materials and achieve better long-term results for the clinical applications.Methods:The intact ceramic bars were screend and treated by the 220,400,600-grid sand papers and then sandblasted by 110μm in diameter aluminium sesquioxide.At last,each block was washed repetedly by alcohol and distilled water. After that,each block was bonded with three different type of luting cements respectively,then preserved in 37℃water for 24h,the shear bond strength of these specimens were tested and the data were analyzed by SAS9.12 software package.Results:1.There were significant differences among alumina ceramics which manifested that shear bond strength,SuperbondC & B was the highest (37.60±2.06)MPa. However, in zirconium dioxide groups,RelyXTM MUnicem was presented the lowest bond strength(13.29±3.05)MPa,but there was no difference between SuperbondC & B and PanaviaTM F.2.The shear bond strength between SuperbondC & B and Al2O3 was higher than that of ZrO2,and so were RelyXTM Unicem groups.But in PanaviaTM F groups,the difference was no significance.Conclusions:1.Both SuperbondC & B and PanaviaTM F show good shear bond strength with oxide ceramics.2.RelyX Unicem which is the one-step and selfetch adhesive was less reliable. 3.When restorations require good retention and high bond strength such as porcelain venees,inlays and some crowns on smaller abutment teeth,select the reliable resin adhesive for long term success.
