Abnormal tone pronunciation is a common phenomenon for hearing-impaired children. Chinese is a tonal language. Tone, as well as vowels and consonants, can distinguish lexical meaning. Thus, treatment of tone pronunciation is very important. Researchs about hearing-impaired children's tone mainly focused on tone's perception, while few researchs focused on tone's production. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to investigate main errors of tone in monosyllable and its characteristics of hearing-impaired children through acoustic analysis, and establish the reference ranges of parameters, then to explore a systemic framework and strategies for the treatment of tone pronunciation.First, through acoustic analysis of 60 normal hearing children's tone pronunciation, this study obtained fundamental frequency curve and reference ranges of parameters of four tones, which laid the foundation for investigations of hearing-impaired children's tone pronunciation.Second, both through perceptual analysis and acoustic analysis of 30 hearing-impaired children's tone pronunciation, this study concluded the main errors of 4 tones. Tone 1:falling slightly. Tone2:(1) flat; (2) falling slightly. Tone3:(1) flat; (2) falling slightly. Tone4:(1) flat; (2) falling not enough. Then, this study analyzed acoustic characteristics and parameters of these types of tonal errors.Third, through statistical methods, this study investigated certain parameters, which had significant differences between normal hearing children and hearing-impaired children, and found that the cause of main errors of tone was that fundamental frequency didn't fall at certain positions.Fourth, on the base of the analysis of hearing-impaired children's tone pronunciation, this study brought forward a systemic framework for the treatment of tone pronunciation, which should include fundamental training and targeted training. Under the guide of the framework, this study explored the treatment strategies of tone pronunciation.
