ObjectiveNowadays, the quality of life and life stress events in patients with Bullous disease had attacted widespread attention. The research evaluated the effect of Pemphigus and Bullous Pemphigoid on quality of life, at the same time analyzed the relevant factors and the level of awareness of the disease.Methods84 Bullous patients from the hospital ward and out-patient were confirmed by histopathological and immunological diagnosis. The Bullous patients were divided into two groups:44 cases of whom were Pemphigus and 40 cases were Bullous Pemphigoid. Made 70 cases of psoriasis vulgaris as the control group, then evaluated the severity of the Bullous patients. Once agreed, the participants were given World Health Organization Quality of Life assessment instrument-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF), Dermatology life Quality Index (DLQI), Short Form-36 health survey (SF-36) and some other questionnaires. Statistical analyses were performed using software Stata10.0.ResultsBullous group showed lower score in WHOQOL-BREF than that of control group (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance between Bullous group and psoriasis group in DLQI score (both P>0.05). Bullous group showed lower score in SF-36 than that of control group (P<0.05). Lower SF-36 score directly correlated with Bullous Pemphigoid patients, mucocutaneous lesions, disease severity and comorbidities (both P<0.05). Bullous patients with more than one comorbid disease showed lower score in SF-36 than that of with only one comorbidity (P<0.05). Bullous patients had a higher awareness of the disease under the doctors advice, but their compliance of follow-up was still unknown. Conclusions1. Bullous patients got lower score in WHOQOL-BREF and SF-36 than psoriasis patients, which shows a greater impact of Bullous disease on the quality of life.2. The main factors that influence Bullous patients' quality of life were disease type, lesion distribution, severity of disease and comorbidities.3. The quality of life of Bullous patients was affected, which was more significant in patients with more than one comorbid disease than that of with only one comorbidity.4. It is possible to improve the quality of life of Bullous disease by reducing their comorbidities.
