Objective To investigate the prevalence and associated risk factors of chronic kidney disease (CKD)in adult population receiving body check from urban area of Fuzhou, Fujian.Methods A total of 6927 Subjects who were older than 20 yeas and received healthy examination in Health Center of First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from Novemberl,2008 to July 15,2009 were enrolled in this study. CKD was defined proteinuria, and/or hematuria, and/or estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR)≤60 ml·min-1(1.73 m2)-1.eGFR was estimated by using the simplified MDRD equation.Results The prevalence of proteinuria was 2.67%(95% CI 2.28%-3.06%), hematuria 12.11% (95%CI 11.35%-12.87%), and reduced eGFR 1.30%(95%CI 1.02%-1.58%),14.81%(95%CI 13.97%-15.63%), subiects had at least one indicator of kidney damage. Age, female, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and hyperuricemia were independently associated with CKD.Conculsions The prevalence of chronic kidney disease is 14.81% in adult population receiving body check from urban area of Fuzhou, Fujian. Independent risk factors associated with CKD are age, female, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and hyperuricemia.
