Objectives:To investigate the prevalence and possible risk factors of chronic kidney diseases(CKD) among military elderly population in Dalian.Method : 576 individuals,aged 65 or above,are selected from 16 military retirement centers in Dalian. All of them were interviewed.Their morning spot urine were tested to determine albumin to creatinine ratio,and renal function was assessed. Morning spot urine dipstick of hematuria was confirmed by microscopy. The associations among demographic charac- teristics , health characteristics and indicators of kidney damage were examined.Result:Eligible data of 576 subjects were enrolled in the study.The prevalence of albuminuria was 14.6%,hematuria 1.0%, and reduced eGFR 19.8%.The prevalence of CKD Was 27.4%.The prevalence of CKD stages, respectively, were 2.1% for stage 1; 5.6% for stage 2; 18.1% for stage 3; 1.0% for stage 4;and 0.7% for stage 5.The logistic regression model showed that hyperuricemia and diabetes contributed to the development of CKD.Conclusion:The prevalence of CKD among military elderly population in Dalian is 27.4%.Hyperuricemia and diabetes are risk factors of CKD.
