Objective:To survey the clinical epidemiology and correlations between pathology and clinical features of a major groups of primary glomerular diseases(PGD)in Shanxi Province. Methods:The data of 979 patients with primary glomerular diseases including sex, age, pathologic type, clinical features were reviewed retrospectively, and all patients in multiple centers had been examined by renal biopsy from July 1993 to October 2006.Results:①The mean age at renal biopsy was 31.6±13.1(6-72)years old in 979 patients with primary glomerular diseases with a male to female ratio of 1.45:1.②IgA nephropathy(IgAN) was the most frequent pathologic type(35.1%)of PGD,followed by mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(MsPGN)(31.3%),membranous nephropathy(MN)(8.1%),minimal change disease(MCD)(6.1%).③The most common clinical manifestation was nephrotic syndrom (NS)(41.4%),followed by nephritic syndrom(32.4%).④MsPGN and IgAN were the most frequent diagnosis in those showed as NS,While sclerotic glomerulonephritis(ScGN)and IgAN frequently featured as CRF,IgAN as ARF.Conclusions:In primary glomerular diseases, male and adolenscent were predominant.IgAN was the most frequently observed pathologic pattern. The most frequent clinical syndrome encountered was NS.
