Comprehensive Evaluation Of Medical Quality For A Hospital In Hefei From 2004 To 2009

Objectives Through comprehensively evaluating the medical quality indicators of a 2A's hospital in Hefei from 2004 to 2009. With a view to finding that the overall trend of medical quality and to explore the factors that affect medical quality,especially since carried out hospital management year activities in 2005.This evaluation results will provide a reference for hospital decision-making.Mothods In this study, 2004-2009 medical quality of a 2 A-level general hospital as the object.We selected the representativeness, sensitivity indicators from medical statistical reports to establish integral evaluation system of medical quality with the optimization of literature analysis.Application of RSR on the standardization of indicators. We calculated the CD rate for each years,and adjusted comprehensive indices with the CD rate.At last we obtained a comprehensive evaluation index for each years. Then we apply graph analysis for medical quality changes, and evaluate the results of sub-file to determine the pros and cons of medical quality.Results Overall medical quality of the hospital showed an upward trend year by year. The result showed a substantial increase in the number of patients, with an average length of stay shortened.It also showed admission and discharge diagnosis consistent rate has maintained 6 consecutive years at 99 percent or more;rate of patients'3rd day diagnosis rapid growth beginning in 2005; clinical and pathological diagnosis rate also showed a continuous growth trend. Cure improvement rate brought about a slight decline in 2008.Other treatment quality indicators, efficiency indicators and management quality indicators improved steadily. After classifying quality for 6 years,RSR shows medical quality of 2004 and 2005 was low. The medical quality of 2007-2008 reached to middle level,2009 is the best in recently 6 years. Conclusions (1) RSR value change trend consistent with the measures of strengthening to take medical quality management;(2) Since carried out hospital management year activities in 2005, the medical quality have more improved;(3) RSR method to evaluate medical quality can be objective response to the quality of the overall trends and strengths and weaknesses.
