| Objective:A comprehensive evaluation of medical quality in a three level of first-class hospital in Wuhan from 2002 to 2007 was conducted in order to provide scientific policies for long-term work. At the same time, comparing the difference of variety of methods and finding out a new way to evaluate the medical quality which is more scientific and precise. Methods:Data was derived from a database in a three level of first-class hospital in Wuhan from 2002 to 2007, including basic information, surgery information, in-patients statistic information, hospital operation information and ward work log. 17 representative statistic variables which reflect the work efficiency, service quality and diagnostic quality were included in our statistical analysis by using principal component analysis and weighted TOPSIS method and RSR method and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) respectively. Use SQL server 2003 to set up database. Statistical analysis was performed employing SAS 8.02, SPSS 13.0 and DPS 3.01.Results⑴Efficiency: The results showed that the efficiency in 2004 is the best, then year in the 2007, 2005, and year in 2002 is the worst.⑵Medical quality: The results showed that the medical quality in 2004 is the best, then year in the 2006, 2005, and year in 2002 is the worst.⑶Diagnosis quality: The quality of diagnosis in recent 5 years showed a rising trend except for the year in 2002.⑷Integrated evaluation of medical service: The quality of medical service is increasing within 6 years. This is in accordance with the actual development and has reflected the transformation of comprehensive power of the hospital. (5)Three evaluation methods were employed to estimate the medical quality. Each of them has shortcomings. We suggest that when draw the conclusion should take account of the actual situation.Conclusion⑵The medical quality has been rising in recent 6 years. Results show the quality in 2007 is the best, and in 2003 is the worst. Using principal component analysis and combining weighted TOPSIS in systematical evaluation is more scientific and authentic as they take full advantage of the original source. |
