The old people left behind in rural is a special and important population, it is the product of a large quantity long-time outflow of the rural young adult migrants at the accelerated phase of Chinese social transformation. At present,"the old people left behind in rural phenomenon"has been very general, and the scale of the old people left behind in rural is expanding. The health status of the old people left behind in rural is directly related to the economic risk and the social risk of the family left behind. Paying attention to the health of the old people left behind in rural has important significance for society and government solving the problems about the family left behind, stabling the rural environment, developing new socialist countryside and building socialist harmonious society.ObjectiveThis study is carried on the positive investigation about the old people left behind in rural in typical area to understand the medical care demand and utilization status of the old people left behind in rural , analyze main factors effecting the medical care demand and utilization status of the old people left behind in rural , make suggestions and measures to effectively improve the medical care demand and utilization status of the old people left behind in rural and promote the health of the old people left behind in rural .MethodsThrough systematically scratching related study and literature home and abroad to reference available research experience and research results ; selecting RuiChang city in JiangXi province to carry on-site survey : through questionnaire to know about basic situation,group characteristics,medical care demand and utilization status and the influencing factors , make a statistic analysis for the collection data ; through interview to know about the attitude and opinions of related individual,organization and institutions to the old people left behind in rural , collect existing related support policy and regulations. Analyzing comprehensively all collected material and data to realize the research purpose and draw a conclusion.Results1,There is no significant differences between the elderly left behind and the general rural elders on the demographic characteristics . But the old people left behind in rural has its own particularity, which shown as the children's attendance when the old people left behind in rural sick is less than the general rural elders,the productive labor burden of the old people left behind in rural is more than the general rural elders,main economic sources of the old people left behind in rural has no significant differences to the general rural elders,the proportion of the households of grandparents with grandchildren in the old people left behind in rural is higher than the general rural family .2,the medical care demand status of the old people left behind in rural⑴The two-week prevalence rate of the old people left behind in rural is 57.52%. Its main influencing factors include sex,daily care provider and the productive labor burden .⑵The chronic disease prevalence rate of the old people left behind in rural is 323.91‰(based on number).Its main influencing factors include age,education level and the participation of the medical insurance .3,the medical care utilization status of the old people left behind in rural⑴The two-week visiting rate of the old people left behind in rural is 58.71%, and the no clinical visit rate is 41.83%. The main factors influencing visiting rate probability include education level,the participation of the medical insurance and the main economic sources .⑵T he hospitalization rate of the old people left behind in rural is 14.35%, and 84.85% of the inpatients is in the country hospital or city hospital. The average days of hospitalization are 12.87 days. The main factors influencing hospitalization rate probability include sex and the main economic sources.Conclusion1,The old people left behind in rural bears more heavier labor burden and life stress . When the old people left behind in rural is in sick, he obtains less attendance from his children than the general rural elders, and the economic support from his children not more than the general rural elders. Conclusively, all these factors increase the risk of sickness and seriously affect the health of the old people left behind in rural. The risk of sickness for the old people left behind in rural is higher.2,The general health conditions for the old people left behind in rural is poor . Many elderly left behind in rural is in sub-health state. The prevalence rate and the sickness severity are far higher than national average. The health conditions of the old people left behind in rural is worse than the general rural elders and the medical care demand is more than general rural elders , but the old people left behind in rural medical care utilization isn't more than general rural elders .3,The old people left behind in rural can get few social support , and the rural primary organization doesn't develop the positive role .
