Objective:Four selected single diseases were compared and analyzed in terms of medical expense structure, the cause for the medical expenditure change before and after implementing clinical pathway in the hospital of GradeⅢLevel A in Xinjiang. It was discussed of the impact on medical expenditure after implementing clinical pathway and hopeful to find solution on health expenditure control, and to provide evidence based date for health bureau and insurance management in monopathy. Methods:The author of this research project, based on the experiences of foreign and domestic hospitals in the studies of clinical pathway, collection the all cases of 4 single diseases, (including cesarean section,Uterine myomas, adenoidal hypertrophy,Cholecystitis)beween before and after CP from the hospital of GradeⅢLevel A in Xinjiang.Numeration date were described as frequency andhypothesis test were performed with X2 text or Fisher's exact probability; the measurement data were described as mean and standard deviation, and statistical inferences were conducted with T test. All statistical inference were performed with SPSS version 17.0 and the two-side significant test level was set up asα=0.05.Results:1.The gender and health insurance of 4 single disease beween the control group and the trail group is not significantly different(P>0.05).2.The average hospital expenditure of the control group is higher than the trail group, the result has statisically significant(P<0.05).3. The various factors of expenditure and the length of stay from 4 simple diseases from the control group is lower than it from the trail group, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).4. Hospitalization expenditure has many component factors. But the proportion of the average drug cost has obvious changes in all factors. Conclusion:The results after researching clinical pathway for four diseases showed that the average medical cost can be controlled. It can also cut the average length of stay and control the average drug expense in controlled group. The increasing number of medical expenditure is lower than the increasing number of consumer price index. It showed that the clinical pathway plays an important role on the reduction of waste of medical resources and the control of the excessive growth of medical expenditure.
