Development Study Of Electronic Disease Nursing Knowledge Base

Purposes:The purpose of this study was to develop a nursing knowledge base system of dis-eases which had novel structure and specific and practical contents to work for clinical care and geared to international nursing development.Methods:In this study, qualitative research and questionnaire were used for analysing the nurses'needs of the nursing knowledge base. The nursing process was adopted as a theoretical guide to design structural framework "nursing assessment - nursing diagnosis-nursing intervention - nursing outcomes" for knowledge base. Then we organized a research team formed by backbone nurses from the department of hematology, infectious diseases, urology, hepatobiliary surgery and ophthalmology to discuss how to collect standard texts and write a template text of a disease which was recognized by experts. After that, we trained 23 head nurses and backbone nurses of relevant departments how to collect texts. The texts were input into the data processing platform after two round s of experts review.ResultsBased on the structural framework of nursing assessment-nursing diagnosis nursing intervention - nursing outcomes, we had developed a nursing knowledge base of 159 kinds of diseases which was combined with network technology and can provide guidance for clinical care. Conclusions:This nursing knowledge base covers extensive kinds of diseases with new structure and specific and practical contents which can be revised and expanded and can provide guidance for clinical care. Moreover, this knowledge base has clear interface because of combining with network technology and also can promote care in China to gear to international standards.
