Objective: To research a method that could assess deviation of nasal septum objectively combine morphology and function. Provide a reference for selecting a appropriate treatment in clinical.Method:Measuring the patients who is eligible with deflection of nasal septum companion with hypertrophic rhinitis : 1. Using multi-slice spiral CT to radiography , and direct measure S总and S骨,S软is calculated through the S软=S总-S骨with the study table in the CT (S总is the total cross-sectional area of the front end inferior turbinate, S骨is the area of nasal bone in the front end inferior turbinate , S软is the area of soft tissue cross-sectional in the front end inferior turbinate ). 2. measuring and analyzing the nasal resistance who is eligible with rhinomanometer ibefore and after using furosemide ma nasal drops. comparing the cross sectional area between ipsilateral and contralateralof and comparing the difference of before and after treatment between ipsilateral nasal resistance and contralateral nasal resistance.Results:Cross-sectional area measured on CT films (cm2): ipsilateral S总: 1.08±0.34; contralateral S总: 1.35±0.55P ; ipsilateral S骨: 0.33±0.10; contralateral S骨: 0.41±0.29; ipsilateral S软: 0.64±0.31; contralateral S软: 1.18±0.46; Nasal resistance before useing furosemide ma nasal drops(Pa/cm3/s): ipsilateral 0.49±0.25; contralateral: 0.43±0.25; Nasal resistance after useing furosemide ma nasal drops(Pa/cm3/s):: ipsilateral 0.28±0.11; contralateral: 0.30±0.18.comparing S总between ipsilateral and contralateral we could find ipsilateral cross-sectional area bigger than contralateral in the front end inferior turbinate, and the difference was statistically significant (P all <0.05); comparing S骨between ipsilateral and contralateral we could find ipsilateral cross-sectional area smaller than contralateral in the front end inferior turbinate, but the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05); comparing S软between ipsilateral and contralateral we could find ipsilateral cross-sectional area smaller than contralateral in the front end inferior turbinate, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); comparing the difference between ipsilateral nasal resistance and contralateral nasal resistance before treatment,we could found ipsilateral nasal resistance slightly larger than contralateral nasal resistance, but this difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05); comparing the difference of before and after treatment between ipsilateral nasal resistance and contralateral nasal resistance, we could found that the the change of the nasal resistance contralateral nasal resistance bigger that the ipsilateral nasal resistance.and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclusion:1:Contralateral mucosa in inferior turbinate is bigger than the ipsilateral's in patients with deviation of nasal septum;2. contralateral nasal resistance is greater change than the ipsilateral's between before and after treatment in patients deviation of nasal septum;3.CT combined with nasal resistance can be used as an objective and effective method to evaluation in patients with nasal septum deviation in the inferior turbinate hypertrophy preoperative in clinical.
