| Objective:To introduce the full synchronizing ribbon arch appliance and technique. meanwhile,investigate the efficiency and effectiveness of orthodontic treatment with full synchronizing ribbon arch appliance.Methods:Thirty patients (8 class I ,20 classⅡand 2 classⅢ) were treated with full synchronizing ribbon arch appliance, 10 of them were Angle classⅡdivision 1 malocclusion whose average age were 15.8 years ,and with four first premolar extraction. And cephalometric measurements were used for assessment .Paired t test was used in statistical analysis.Results:After treatment , normal overbite,overjet and intercuspation relationship of posterior teeth were obtained.To the 10 cases of patients with Angle classⅡdivision 1 malocclusion, the results of cephalometric analysis show that SNA,SNB,ANB,U1-SN,U1-NA,U1-NAmm were reduced. U1-L1 was increased significantly.Overjet was reduced for 4.71mm (p<0.01), and the significant difference was founded. The edges of the upper and lower incisors were retruded for 6.94mm and 3.63mm respectively. the apexes of the upper and 1ower incisors were retruded for 4.33mmand 3.58mm respectively . and the difference was significant too(P<0.01). The upper and lower molars were protruded for 2.05mm and 2.81mm respectively and the difference was significant(P<0.05). Further more,there were remarkable decrease on FCA/°,ULP and LLP , and significant increase on NLA /°and Z angel ( P<0.01) . Conclusions:full synchronizing ribbon arch appliance which has double -slot structure, combined with ribbon arch , it can bring out alignment, leveling and extraction spaces closing at the same time . Its unique advantages such as automatic torque expression, low friction, light force can well protect molars anchorage, retract the front teeth effectively and improve patient's profile observably. It is a scientific , simple , programmed and effective treatment system which is the applicable to the rage of all kinds of traditional bracket. It has competitive displacement.
