Cervical vertigo is due to vertebral instability or misligment, which affects the function of the nerve cell aggregations located in the neck just in front of the vertebrae.In the modern time, doctors prefer to use western medicine in the emergency critical. The TCM is located in inferior position. Patients can' t get medicine in time, because decocting herbal medicine will spend much time. This situation lead to a lot of people thinks TCM just treat chronic disease. The treatments of cervical vertigo include surgical and Chinese treatment. Both are not suitable for using in the emergency. For reducing patients'symptoms as quickly as possible, seeking a direct therapy is up to our eyebrows.Balance Acupuncture is the science of studying for development of human life and the laws of nature. It can repair the functions of organs according to regulating the balance of brain center system by acupuncture. It has simple, convenient, inexpensive, efficient features. It has achieved good results in emergency, such as pain syndrome, hypertension, cervical vertigo and other diseases.ObjectivesTo compare the efficacy differences between balance needle and medication in neck dizziness acute manifests suddenly. Methods66 cases of acute attack of cervical vertigo patients were randomly divided into a balance needle group and a medication group,33 cases in each group. The acupuncture group is the treatment group, raised caves Toutong Point (BP-LE11) are the main Acupoints, with tinnitus and hearing loss:plus Erlong Point (BP-LE2); with nausea or vomiting symptoms:plus Weitong Point (BP-HN5); with neck pain:plus Jingtong Point(BP-UE9); with deficiency body:plus Shengti Point (BP-HN1). The control group were injected diphenhydramine needle. With the statistical software of SPSS13.0, T test for the numerical variable data of the Gaussian distribution, rank sum test for the numerical variable data of the abnormal distribution, and Chi-square test for categorical variable data.ResultThere were no significant differences in mean age, gender, the duration of illness between two groups (P>0.05). There was a significant difference between two groups after treatment 30min (P< 0.05), in which the result in balance needle group was superior to that in medication group. As time goes on, medication group is gradually increasing in the efficacy, and balance needle group shows a downturn in the efficacy. Balance needle is accurate and simple. The onset of action of balance needle group was much earlier than that of medication group.ConclusionBalance Acupuncture and Western Medicine are shown to complement each other in the acting time and the remission time. Balance Acupuncture treatment is effective and easy to operate for cervical vertigo, no adverse reactions for patients and receiving easily. It is worth promoting in the emergency.
