Backgrounds:Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a group of epigastric discomfort cardinal symptom of clinical syndrome, which includes sustained or reversal stroking of epigastric pain, ajnaing, belching, early satiety anorexia, anorexia, nausea etc. It belongs to functional gastrointestinal disorder. Roma III standard divide FD into postprandial distress syndrome(PDS) and epigastric pain syndrome (EPS) Chinese epidemiology research to:the common people which have dyspepsia symptom come up to 18.9%. FD prevalence rate is growing with age, which obviously affects patient quality of life. Modern medicine remains unclear to its etiology and pathophysiology, and its clinical syndrome very complicated, drug treatment of FD has no satisfactory proposal at present, so the major treatment of FD is symptomatic therapy, it sticks to the of principle complex treatment and individualized treatment, and the individualized treatment can embody the feature of treatment based on syndrome differentiation of TCM, so the traditional Chinese medicine is possessed of a good development prospects of the therapy of FD.Objective:This study totally aims to summarize FD study document from systems of TCM and western medicine. To explore the therapeutic effects and life quality improvement, we measured the effect of Invigorating Spleen and Warming Stomach Decoction (hereinafter referred to as DISWS) on treating FD patients suffered from Spleen-stomach Deficiency by means of randomized controlled prospective clinical study, and make further efforts to popularize its clinical applications. Methods:The study includes two parts:literature summary, clinical research.Literature summary of FD in Chinese and Western documents were consolidated and reviewed.Clinical Research Methods:According to the prospective, randomized, control study,80 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into 40 patients as treatment group with DISWS and 40 as placebo control group. It lasted for 4 weeks to observe Syndrome before and after treatment, the overall effective rate, quality of life and psychological factors in the change situation.Clinical results:1.1 the medium-term treatment (2 weeks) effects, comparing with that of pre-treatment,patients felt better by statistical analysis (P<0.05) on symptoms such as epigastric, epigastric pain and other syndromes except for tongue nature and fur. Comparing with that of before treatment, the symptoms of patients in control group such as epigastric fullness, epigastric pain, spiritlessness have improved by statistical analysis (P<0.05); and there is no significant different in the trend of improvement in other syptoms (P> 0.05).1.2 After the treatment for 4 weeks, the treatment group compared with patients with the syndrome except for tongue nature and fur before treatment improved in varying degrees, there is significant difference in above-mentioned symptoms (P<0.01). In control group, syndromes of patients were better compared with that of before treatment, there is significant difference in the symptoms of epigastric fullness, epigastric pain, thermophile and relief with pressure(P<0.05), and there is no significant different in the trend of improvement in other syptoms by statistical analysis (P> 0.05).1.3 After the treatment for 4 weeks, the treatment group compared with control group, all the symptoms except for tongue nature> fur and spiritlessness improved in varying degrees, there is significant different in the trend of improvement in other syptoms by statistical analysis (P<0.05). The results showed longer treatment courses with better effects within observation period, indicating that the effect of DISWS treating patients suffered from fullness due to Spleen-stomach Deficiency is related to treatment courses.1.4 After 2weeks,4 weeks of treatment, the effect in group of DISWS is better than the placebo group, there is signific ant difference (P<0.01).1.5 After 4 weeks of treatment, the effect in group of DISWS to improve quality of life of FD patients is better than the placebo group.1.6 After 4 weeks of treatment, The effect of DISWS on psychosocial factors of FD patients is better than the placebo group.Cone I us i ons:The clinical research results shows that DISWS has unique curative effects for treating FD patients suffered from spleen-stomach deficiency on improving the clinical symptoms, quality of life and psychosocial factors. And the placebo can have certain effect as well, but the clinical effet in group of DISWS is better than the placebo group.
