ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy parameters of the combination treatment of shi-pi with scientific pressure on ear acupoint for percutaneous transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) postoperative syndrome. To investigate the necessity of the combination treatment of shi-pi with scientific pressure on ear acupoint for TACE postoperative syndrome.MethodsAll the 60 patients from the clinical departments (mainly in oncology) of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were diagnosed with primary liver cancer, receiving TACE treatment from March 2010 to March 2011. They were randomly divided into experimental group (which receiving the combination treatment of shi-pi with scientific pressure on ear acupoint) and control group (only treated group) of 30 cases. The control group were received the treatment for conventional Western medicine, the experimental group of the combination treatment for shi-pi with scientific pressure on ear acupoint yet based on the Western treatment. During the time from 7 days before the TACE surgery to 7 days after, patients received real shi-pi Chinese medicine, one dose per day,14 days as a treatment. Between the two groups fo TACE syndrome total score, P=0.000, ie P<0.01, there are significant differences and statistical significance, In the experimental group the incidence of postoperative syndrome of TACE are lower than that in the control group.ConclusionThe combination treatment of shi-pi with scientific pressure on ear acupoint can reduce TACE syndrome including nausea and vomiting, drug-induced fever, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase enzymes, especially is effective in the alleviation of nausea and vomiting, aspartate aminotransferase, Alanine Aminotransferase, the un-tumor pain, while serum bilirubin, non-neoplastic aspects of clinical pain did not change significantly.
