Objective To investigate the correlation between ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism and patients with type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance in Kunming Han Chinese. Methods By the case-control method, the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism was detected in eighty eight normal controls and two hundred and forty-five patients with type 2 diabetes patients in Kunming Han Chinese by PCR-RFLP.The frequency of genotype and allele and relative clinical data were compared and analysed between two groups.And the frequency genotype and allele were compared and analysed between groups according to gender and BMI. For Logistic regression analysis,the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism was as an independent variable,and type 2 diabetes as a dependent variable.Results①The frequency of genotype and allele distributions in the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has no significant differences between the patients and controls (P> 0.05).②Between the gender groups, the frequency of genotype distributions in the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has significant differences (P<0.05), the frequency of allele distributions in the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has no significant differences (P> 0.05).③The frequency of genotype and allele distributions in the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has no significant differences between the BMI groups (P> 0.05).④The insulin resistance index has no significant differences between the carriers with and without KK genotype in Kunming Han Chinese (IR:3.55±0.28 vs 3.31±0.40, P >0.05).⑤The SBP level is lower in carriers with KK genotype than in ones without KK genotype in Kunming Han Chinese (SBP:130.30±28.49 vs 138.26±30.54mmHg, P< 0.05).⑥Logistic regression analysis indicates that ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism were not associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes significantly (P> 0.05).Conclusions①There was existed ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism in Kunming Han Chinese.②The ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has a distribution of gender gap in Kunming Han Chinese,the KK frequency genotype are higher in male carriers than female ones,the without KK frequency genotype are higher in female carriers than male ones.③ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism is not associated with fat,insulin resistance and the risk of type 2 diabetes in Kunming Han Chinese significantly.④The SBP level is lower in carriers with KK genotype than in ones without KK genotype in Kunming Han Chinese. Methods By the case-control method,we detected the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism was detected in eighty eight normal controls,eighty four patients with type 2 diabetes and one hundred and sixty-one patients with LEA in type 2 diabetes in Kunming Han Chinese by PCR-RFLP.The frequency of genotype and allele and relative clinical data were compared and analysed between groups;and two hundred and fourty-five type 2 diabetes cases were divided into groups according to the degree of LEA.The frequency of genotype and allele and relative clinical data were compared and analysed between LEA groups.Logistic regression analysis was used to estimate the risk markers of LEA in type 2 diabetes. Results①The frequency of genotype and allele distributions in the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has no significant differences between the patients and controls (P>0.05).②The age,SBP,BMI,Scr,TG,HDL-C and FBG have the differences among groups (P< 0.05或P<0.01).③The HBA1c,FBG,2hPBG,TC,TG,LDL-C and HDL-C have differences in LEA different degree groups in type 2 diabetes (P<0.05或P< 0.01).④Logistic regression analysis indicates that the age (OR value: 1.181,95%CI:1.077-1.295),HBA1c (OR value:2.012,95%CI:1.307-3.099),TG(OR value:2.249,95% CI:1.331-3.801),LDL-C(OR value:3.242,95%CI:1.572-6.686),SBP(OR value:1.012,95% CI:1.003-1.022),duration of diabetes(OR value:1.006, 95%CI:1.001-1.011) were risk factors of LEA in type 2 diabetes; HDL-C(OR value: 0.046,95%CI:0.008-0.256) was protect factor of LEA in type 2 diabetes.⑤In LEA different degree groups of type 2 diabetes, the frequency of genotype and allele distributions in the ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism has no significant differences between groups (P>0.05).Conclusions①ENPP1 gene K121Q polymorphism is not associated with LEA in type 2 diabetes in Kunming Han Chinese significantly.②The age,HBA1c,TG,LDL-C,SBP and duration of diabetes are the risk factors of LEA in type 2 diabetes,while HDL-C is protect factor.
