Objective:To evaluate the influence of self-etching adhesive I bond on the permeability of dentin with different brushing ways in vitro. Methods:Twenty-five extracted teeth were divided randomly and averagely into five groups, Self-etching adhesive I bond was coated on the occlusal surfaces of the extracted teeth with different brushing ways (force and direction). The treated surface was exposed and the rest was sealed. The extracted teeth were in-mersed in the ethylene blue solution for twenty-four hours and vertically cleaved into two sections,The penetrating depth of the dye was measured under a dental microscope. Finally, the statistical analysis of measurement results was carried out. Results:Every group painted by self-etching adhesive had significant differences from the blank control group (P<0.05). The group painted gently in the same direction had significant differences from the rest painted by self-etching adhesive (P< 0.05). Conclusion:This in vitro experiment showed that the permeability of dentin painted gently in the same direction in vitro was the lowest.
