Objective:To investigate the relations among plasma homoeystein, D-dimer (D-D) and C-reaction protein (CRP) in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD), and assessthe degree of AECOPD. Methord:We collecte clinical datas of 44 hospitalized pations with AECOPD in the first hospital affilliated to Xin Jiang University from October 2009 to January 2010 22 AECOPD patients with normal plasma Hey (NHcy), male 11, femalel 1, age (65±2.0); 22 AECOPD patients with hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy), malel2, femalel 0; age(63±2.5). All the collected patients were diagnosed by the criteria of COPD. D-D, CRP and the rate of Respiratory Failure were compared between the two groups. Analized the relation of D-D and plasma Hey, CRP and plasma Hey. Results:(1) D-D is significantly higher in AECOPD with HHcy patients:D-D concentration is (854.73±435.55) ng/ml, much higher than (259.08±90.31) ng/ml in AECOPD with NHcy patients (P<0.05); (2)CRP was significantly higher in AECOPD with HHcy:CRP is concentration (17.86±3.81) mg/L, obviously higher than (13.70±3.56) mg/L in AECOPD with NHcy (P<0.05); (3) Respiratory Failure rate was higher in AECOPD with HHcy than AECOPD with NHcy X2=4.00, (P<0.05); 4) Elevated level of D-D and CRP is related to the level of plasma Hey in AECOPD patients. Plasma Hey offers positive correlation with D-D (r=0.66, P<0.05), and CRP (r=0.71, P <0.05). Conclusion:AECOPD with HHcy is more serious than AECOPD with NHcy. Also, elevated level of D-D and CRP is related to the level of plasma Hey. HHcy can be regarded as one of the index of the degree of AECOPD.
