Objective:TRPV4, which is one of the member of the TRP(transient receptor potential channels) family, with calcium and sodium ion highly selective.,was distributed in which central and peripheral nervous systems, liver, kidney, adipose tissue, heart, testis, etc. To elucidate its role in hepatocarcinogenesis, we analyzed the expression of TRPV4 in tumour tissues of human hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) samples. Methods:Tissue samples and clinical data were obtained fron 54 patients with (HCC) who underwent hepatectomy between 2007 and 2010 at the Department of Surgery, the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. The expression of TRPV4 were analyed by immunohistochemistry in the study. Furthermore, the correlations between expression of TRPV4 and clinicopathological parameters including the tumor cell differentiation, tumor size and numbers, portal vein invasion, were analyzed.Result:Immunohistochemistry results:TRPV4 in tumor tissue, normal tissues and adjacent normal tissues were expressed, high expression rates were 53.7%,8.1% and 27.2%, and after tumor tissue expressed both in the TRPV4 Statistical difference on the 54 cases of primary hepatocellular carcinoma, TRPV4 expression of the 29 cases (53.7%), low expression of the 25 patients (46.3%). ConeIusions:Our results suggest that TRPV4 may plays roles in hepatocarcinogenesis.
