ObjectiveTo improve the diagnosis and treatment of prostate sarcoma, we analyzed the clinical materials of 10 patients with prostate sarcoma treated in our hospital and reviewed the literature at home and abroad.Clinical Data and Research Methods10 patients with prostate sarcoma were involved in this study in the urologic department of Provincial Hospital of Anhui Medical University from March 1996 to December 2009. All patients had complete clinical and epidemiological data, and whose epidemiology, symptoms and signs, laboratory tests, imaging studies, pathology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis were analyzed. In addition, we researched the recent reports published in China nearly 10 years with a total of 169 cases, all patients were divided into combined therapy group therapy and palliative treatment group, two groups were compared average survival time by t test.ResultAccording to histological examination and immunohistochemical staining results, all the results of prostate biopsy were consistent with intraoperative and postoperative pathological results. The pathological diagnoses of the 10 patient were: 5 cases of leiomyosarcoma, 3 cases of fibrosarcoma, 1 case of rhabdomyosarcoma and 1 case of spindle cell tumors. In 7 cases of radical resection of the prostate patients, the survival time of 5 cases who treated with postoperative radiotherapy and (or) chemotherapy were 5,6,8,12,15 months, and the other 2 cases without postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy survived 6 months except 1 of them failed to followed up. 2 cases underwent radical cystoprostatectomy, ileal neobladder, postoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy, and their survival time was 7 months and 10 months. 1 case survived 5 months with epicystostomy only. The causes of death were distant metastasis of the prostate. Combined therapy group was significantly higher than the average survival time after palliative treatment group (P = 0.036) in the report of 169 cases.Conclusion1. The characteristics of patients with prostate sarcoma are young age, rapid development and poor prognosis.2. The symptoms of bladder outlet obstruction is the most common phenomenon in the patients of prostate sarcoma.3. PSA is not relevant to the occurrence and development of prostate sarcoma..4. Prostate gland biopsy is an important means of diagnosis of prostate sarcoma , and the pathological examination is the only method of diagnosis of prostate sarcoma.5. Early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment based on surgery of prostatesarcoma is the most effective treatment.
