Allergic Rhinitis belongs to "Bi Oiu" in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). With the progress of industrialization, modern lifestyles and ecological environment changes, the incidence of allergenic rhinitis shows globally ascending trends. This investigation aimed to study the pathogenesis characteristics of allergic rhinitis (AR) by questionnaire, investigate the epidemiological rule of allergenic rhinitis's TCM syndrome in the area of Shenzhen, as well as its relative nosogenesis, add the epidemiological data in Shenzhen, focus on analyzing AR family history characteristics, to guide the primary prevention and the clinical treatment of AR.The survey on AR patients in Shenzhen found that Allergenic rhinitis is mainly perennial continuity in Shenzhen region. Issued early mainly in 15-25 years of age accounting for 29.0%. Among all cases, the syndrome of deficiency and cold of lung account for the most. The syndrome of deficiency of yang in kidney compared with the other three types has greater age, and longer course, showing the conclusion of that sick for a long time will be damage the kidney. These provides the basis to clinical analysis of "Bi Oiu". Lung, spleen, kidney three organ is dysfunction, Wei Qi is too weak to defend outside, combined with invasion by the cold and yi qi hit the nose, lead to Bi Qiu. The weakness of the lung, spleen and kidney's qi (yang) is the fundamental reason, the attack of cold and yi qi is the incentive of the disease. The survey results told us that the most common allergen inhalations in Shenzhen were dust mites and mycetes, the most common allergic food were fish, shrimp and crab. The distribution characteristics of AR associated with geographical region climate, indicating that we should often open windows, ventilate, change and dry clothes frequently. These are effective ways to avoid the onset of allergen-induced allergic diseases. The survey results also found that patients complicated with other allergic diseases besides AR, such as bronchial asthma, allergic conjunctivitis, allergic dermatosis, had more positive rate of family history than the patients only complicated with AR. Moreover, the positive family history rate of the patients complicated with AR, bronchial asthma and allergic dermatosis simultaneously, was up to 70.2%. All the results suggested that idiosyncrasy individual inclined to be with idiosyncrasy syndrome. Therefore, on diagnose and treatment of the AR, we should put the sufficient attention on treatment of other allergic diseases. In the case-control study on the risk factors of disease, the multiple regression analysis about a variety of suspected risk factors came to the following conclusions:personal asthma history, personal allergic conjunctivitis history, asthma family history, AR family history were the risk factors of AR, and the ratio of personal history of asthma was highest. This further demonstrated that AR and Asthma belonged to "the same airway, the same disease", suggesting that we should put a great attention on the diagnosis and treatment of CARAS.
