A Clinical Study On Huang Qi Jian Zhong Decoction For Treatment Of Malnutrition In Children

【Objective】To observe the curative effect and to estimate the appetite, body weight, mental status symptoms and all that symptoms, and the laboratory and clinical as well as long-term follow-up result, we treated 81 patients with Malnutrition in children by therapy of fundamental treatment combined with huang qi jian zhong decoction, which was contrasted to fundamental treatment group【Methods】We chose 81 outpatients of Malnutrition in children in department of pediatrics of the third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese medicine from Mar.3 to Feb.2011, including 46 males and 35 females, with 1 and 6 as the maximum and the minimum age respectively. We separated 81 patients randomly to 2 groups:fundamental treatment combined with huang qi jian zhong decoction group (41 patients), the fundamental treatment group (40 patients). Thus we tested equilibration of the two groups before treatment (P>0.05), with the comparable result.Fundamental treatment group:Diet adjust, including choose digestible foods with high nutritive value, increase intake such as caloric, protein and vitamin, choose foodmixtures including meat, beans, grain etc. for protein intake, dairy products and vegetable oil for fat intake。The choise for food variety should be from single to variety。It should be supplied accordingly if there is deficiency of zinc, iron and calcium。Fundamental treatment combined with huang qi jian zhong decoction group: Using Huang qi jian zhong decoction combined with fundamental treatment, the dosage will change along with the state of an illness and patient's condition。One dose per day。15 days are 1 course of the treatment。1-3 years old:maltose (15g), cassia twig (2g), radix paeoniae alba (6g), ginger (3g), chinese date (3 ones), astragalus membranaceus (3g) prepared radix glycyrrhizae (3g)。 4-6 years old:maltose (30g), cassia twig (4g), radix paeoniae alba (10g), ginger (5g), chinese date (6ones), astragalus membranaceus (5g) prepared radix glycyrrhizae (6g)。During treatment period, the patients shoule be paid attention to rational feeding, not allow to take something raw and cold, abstain from engorgement。To observe the interventions influences on patients'appetite,body weight, mental status symptoms and all that symptoms, and the laboratory and clinical index, we recorded and estimated the patients'every index respectively in three times:before the treatment, after 1 course, and 2months after the treatment。【Results】Results of total effective rate of the two groups indicate that Fundamental treatment combined with huang qi jian zhong decoction group was better than Fundamental treatment group in the first course (P<0.05), but it have no statistical Difference on the numerical value of trace elements.2 months later, Fundamental treatment combined with huang qi jian zhong decoction group was better than Fundamental treatment group (P<0.05) in all the observation item。【Conclusions】The therapy of Fundamental treatment combined with huang qi jian zhong decoction, which was used to treat Malnutrition in children, could elevate clinical curative effect and amend patients'the laboratory and clinical index。...
