Pain of primary hepatic carcinoma (following called hepatic carcinoma pain for short) is one of the main clinical manifestations of the hepatic carcinoma patients who are in middle and advanced stage, it is also one the most difficultly controlled symptoms with the main clinical manifestation of pain at right upper quadrant. The pain incidence rate is 80~90% and the ratio of serious pain is higher which is about 50% in HandⅢstage of hepatic carcinoma pain. The pain is the important factor which affects the quality of life of hepatic carcinoma patients. In recent years, with the intensive study of the effects of Acupuncture and Moxibustion to the pain, it offers proofs to treat such kind of disease and deepens the understanding of Chinese Medicine to it. Acupuncture and Moxibustion show huge potential and superiority in these sides such as reliving pain, reducing the toxic and side-effect of Western medicine and the cost of treatment, they are also accepted by more and more people.Connecting the existing clinical practice and the guidance of academic adviser and integrating the study of literature in all ages, taking 60 hepatic carcinoma patients as the subjects and treating them with Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle and Western medicine, according to the observation of the relief of pain and the discussion of quality of life to evaluate the clinical effects and provide a new method to relive the hepatic carcinoma pain and increase the quality of life of the patients. Research ObjectivesTaking randomized controlled trial and observing the effects and security of the treatment of Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle and Western medicine to the hepatic carcinoma patients to evaluate the clinical effects. Research MethodsSelecting 60 patients who are conformed to the inclusion criteria from the Digestive System Department and Oncology Department of Guangzhou Hospital of Chinese Medicine, dividing them into treatment group and control group by random, 30 patients belong to the treatment group and other 30 patients belong to the control group. Needling the treatment group with the open point selected by time of Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle and the points of Taichong(LR3),Qimen(LR14), and taking Tramadol Hydrochloride 100mg per time, po, per12h,7 times per week,2 weeks per course,2 courses in all. Treating the control group with Tramadol Hydrochloride 100mg per time, po, per12h.At prior and post treatment using NRS to observe the extent of relief of pain, the onset time and duration of pain relief, the toxic and side-effect to gastrointestinal tract (nausea\ vomiting\ constipation) and using the scores of quality of life (QOL) of the hepatic carcinoma patients to evaluate the clinical effects. Research Results1. After the treatment, there is effective relief of pain in each group, but no significant difference between the total effective rate (p>0.05), which means there are obvious effects to treat the hepatic carcinoma pain of the two methods in the groups.2. After the treatment, the effective rate of the treatment group is greater than that of the control group, the difference is significant (P<0.05), the onset time and duration of pain relief of the treatment group is obviously superior to those of the control group, which means the symptom improvement of the treatment group is superior to that of the control group.3. The incidence rate of the toxic and side-effect to gastrointestinal tract (nausea\ vomiting\ constipation) in the treatment group is obviously less than those in the control group, there is statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05), which means the toxic and side-effect of Western medicine of the treatment group is less than those of the control group.4. Comparing the scores of quality of life (QOL) of each group, P<0.05, which means the improvement of quality of life of the treatment group is more obvious than that of the control group. Research ConclusionAfter treating with Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle and Western medicine, there are superior clinical effects than treating just with Western medicine on these sides such as reliving pain, reducing the toxic and side-effect of drugs, improving the quality of life of the patients and so on. It offers a new effective method to improve the integrated clinical effects.
