BackgroundLower extremity varicose veins is one of the most common of the peripheral vein diseases. There is a high incidence in many counties in the world. There are many ways based on routine operation. There are many postoperative complications, such as pain, swelling, subcutaneous petechia, haematoma of the ovarian fossa and remain varicose vein mass. The western medicine has shown no specific ways in treating such cases. There are no reports on the treating lower extremity varicose veins with TCM ways. Bazhen soup with benefitting Qi, activating the Blood and transforming Blood stasis can treat the disease with Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. So lower extremity varicose veins patients who were Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome as traditional Chinese medical science in differentiation of symptoms and signs were operated by better effect of high level ligation of great saphenous vein and small incision. And the postoperative patients were offered by conventional treatment measures and Bazhen soup to observe the healing effect.ObjectivesTo observe the near-term and long-dated curative effect of postoperative lower extremity varicose veins patients with pain, swelling, subcutaneous petechia, haematoma of the ovarian fossa and varicose vein mass, who were treated by combine traditional Chinese and Western medicine. In addition,to clear and definite the effect of small incision combined with Bazhen soup in treating simple lower extremity varicose veins.Methods50 patients (50 limbs) who were brought into this research according to the selection criteria of lower extremity varicose veins were randomly divided into treatment (26 cases 26 limbs) and contrast group (24 cases 24 limbs). And forward looking research of the 50 lower extremity varicose veins were operated by small incision, and postoperation, the treatment group was given conventional treatment measures and Bazhen soup, the contrast group was given conventional treatment measures only.ResultAfter 10 days treatment, the feeling of pain, swelling of treatment group was better than contrast group (p< 0.05). After 3 months treatment, the pain, swelling, subcutaneous petechia and varicose vein mass were the same of treatment and contrast group (p>0.05).ConclusionSmall incision combined with Bazhen soup in treating simple lower extremity varicose veins were benefit for relieving pain and swelling.
