The Association Studies Of Four Single Neuclear Polymorphisms In RELN Gene And Schizophrenia Of VA

Objective The RELN gene is located in 7q22 of human chromosomes,and forms secretion type protein which has Serine kinase activity after transcription and translation.This protein participates in the neuronal migration and the important process of formation such as Cerebral Cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum during embryonic development period,and plays the role of regulating synaptic plasticity in the CNS of the adult.The RELN gene is considered as one of susceptibility genes for mental diseases such as autism,schizophrenia,ect.Va is one of Yunnan's peculiar minorities.They seldomly intermarry whith other ethnic groups.So it's suit for schizophrenia molecular genetics research in Va people. We want to explore the relationships between RELN gene and schizophrenia of Va in Yunnan and to provide the basis fore the schizophrenia neurodevelopmental theory by detecting 4 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPS) of RELN gene,including Rs7341475, Rsl2538307, RS362691 and RS736707.Method 54 patients and 300 healthy controls are administrated to detect the RELN gene polymorphisms,using TaqMan allelic discrimination technology,and to explore the relationship between RELN gene polymorphisms and schizophrenia.Result Although there are no significant differences about Allele frequency and Genotype frequency,there are significant differences about the Haplotype frequency of Rs12538307, Rs7341475,RS362691 and RS736707 in RELN gene through case-control analysis.Conclusion We found that there were no significant differences between the single SNP of the four and schizophrenia,but there are some relationships about Haplotype frequency and schizophrenia in this sample.
