Cerebrovascular disease with high morbidity, high mortality, high disability, the outset of cerebrovascular disease begins not older than 35-year-old, and the trend to be younger. Atherosclerosis of arteries is the main cause of cerebrovascular disease, the study of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis is very important to the prevention and treatment of it. Numerous studies have now confirmed that atherosclerotic disease is an inflammatory disease, and it is also found that serum trace elements changes are involved in the process of atherosclerosis, weather can we through the determination of serum inflammatory markers CRP level and Cu/Zn ratio to explore the relationship between serum CRP and the internal carotid artery atherosclerosis severity, the extent of neurological impairment in patients, the relationship between Cu/Zn ratio and acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction,in order to evaluate and intervene in the illness early, prevent the happening of the disease and development, will have important clinical significance in the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular disease. In this study,There are 80 cases in acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction Group and 51 cases in control group (healthy persons) each, These patients came from China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University inpatient and outpatient department of neurology between 2009 and 2010.The selected patients with acute atherosclerotic cerebral infarction accord with the Fourth National Conference on revision of the " diagnosis of ischemic cerebrovascular disease points", These patients were confirmed by the skull CT or MRI. All subjects underwent skull CT or MRI, Carotid ultrasound were performed, serum CRP,lipid and Cu, Zn detection. CSS was used to assess the patients neurologic impairment scale. The results showed:1.The level of serum low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C),triglyceride (TG) in patients with acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction is higher than the control group (P<0.05);The level of serum high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) in patients with acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction is lower than the control group (P<0.05).2.According to the carotid ultrasound results, all the observed objects were divided into three groups, the group with carotid plaques, the thick IMT group and the normal group. The level of serum CRP in normal group is lower than the thick IMT group (P<0.05);The level of serum CRP in the thick IMT group is lower than the group with carotid plaque (P<0.05);The level of serum CRP in normal group is significant lower than the group with carotid plaque (P<0.01).3.The level of serum CRP in patients with acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction is higher than the control group (P<0.05), and it is positively correlated with neurological impairment in patients. According to the CSS scores all the patients were divided into three groups the light group, the medium-sized group, the heavy group. The level of serum CRP in light group is lower than the medium-sized group (P<0.05);The level of serum CRP in medium-sized group is lower than the heavy group (P<0.05);The level of serum CRP in light group is significant lower than the heavy group (P<0.01).4.The level of serum Cu/Zn ratio in patients with acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction is higher than the control group (P<0.05)Conclusions:1.The importance of dyslipidaemia should be increased to an understanding, Highlight atherogenic dyslipidaemia as a key factor associated with residual macrovascular risk,Multi-risk-factor comprehensive intervention——statins and other drugs combined application, in order to make all the lipid spectrum reach the standards.2. Inflammation play an important role in the process of the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis. Anti-inflammatory,stable plaques in atherosclerosis treatment have an important significance.3.The levels of serum CRP can not only reflect the extent of inflammatory system response, also can reflect the severity of cerebral infarction,So will the serum CRP as a kind of assessment atherosclerosis degree and the cerebral infarction forecasting index deserves further investigation.4.The level of serum Cu/Zn ratio in patients with acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction is higher, and the change has certain correlation with acute cerebral infarction,so we should notice to trace elements examination and regulate the balance. But this study is cross-sectional observation, the sample is small, and do not have a dynamic observation for the level of serum CRP in patients with acute atherothrombotic cerebral infarction, which in order to understand the correlation between serum CRP and the illness outcome. The effects of an intervention of inflammation in the process of atherosclerosis and regulating the balance of the trace element need a large sample, long-term following-up study, this paper did not involve, so further research is needed to evaluate the therapeutic effects of anti-inflammatory and regulating the trace elements.
