Background and Objective: The metabolic syndrome is a highly prevalent constellation of vascular risk factors, including elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, obesity, and dyslipidemia. MS increases the morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular diseases. However, few studies have examined the association between the incidence of stroke and MS.this syudy is designed to elucidate the relationship between MS and ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease. Methods: We evaluated 169 Cerebral Infarction patients who underwent brain magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in the first hospital of jilin university as control group from May 2010 to January 2011. MS was defined using the criteria of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF),divided into the metabolic group(MS group) and without metabolic group(non-MS group). For each group of patients we collected detail history and the symptoms of patient, signs, name, sex, age, smoking history, alcohol history, history of hypertension, history of diabetes, history of heart disease and blood pressure, blood glucose, blood adiponectin and intracranial and extracranial vascular examination (TCD, carotid arteries color ultrasound examination, craniocerebral MRA or CTA), and craniocerebral imaging (CT or MRI) results. tenosis was diagnosed in cases showing a degree of luminal narrowing of≥50%. The stroke subtypes were categorized as large artery atherosclerosis (LAA), small artery occlusion (SAO). All the data analysis by SPSS statistical software 17.0.Results: (1)the prevalence of MS in the ischemic cerebrovascular disease patients was 52.7%. with64 % male and 36% females. The two groups have no difference in age, gender. (P>0.05). (2)ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease risk factors,MS 89 cases 52.7% total higest proportion, which in trun diminshing is simply hypertension 48 cases 28.4% total proportion; Multiple risk factors(not MS) 13 cases 7.6% total proportion; simply diabetes 12 cases 7.1% total proportion; simply dyslipidemia 4 cases ,2.3% total proportion; simply smoking and or drinking 3 cases 1.7 % total proportion(;3)The logistic regression analysis adout Ms and ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the independent risk factors relate as follow: elevated blood pressure(p=0.001,OR=53.856 ), elevated blood glucose(p=0.000,OR=10.139), obesity(p=0.001,OR=1.317), and dyslipidemia(p=0.005,OR=2.568). And low HLD-C and smoking ,alcohol have no relation with MS. (4)The two groups in carotid artery IMT thicking, carotid artery plaques, cerebral stenosis have differences(P<0.05).The rate of carotid artery IMT thicking, carotid artery plaques, cerebral stenosis in MS group is higer than non-MS group(.6)The two groups in TOSTA subtypes have differences(P<0.05). MS group of patients with cerebral infarction LAA type mainly, non-MS group of patients with SAO type cerebral infarction primarily.(7)The two groups of plasma adiponectin have differences(P<0.01). MS groups of patients in plasma adiponectin is below the average level non-MS group of patients.Conclusion:(1)MS is a very comman and important risk factor of the ischemic cerebrovascular disease. (2) In the cerebral infarction in merger with MS patients, the highest correlation between incidence of ischemic cerebrovascular disease is hypertension. In turn, high triglycerides for diminishing hyperglycemia, central obesity (waistline), various abnormal index interaction, makes MS increased the risk of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.(3)MS promote cerebral atherosclerosis, is closely with cerebral stenosis(.4) Adiponectin has decreased level in the patients of metabolic syndrome and ischemic cerebrovascular disease ,in the artery atherosclerosis infarction subtypes the level obviously decreased. Speculation of adiponectin as a predictor and detection of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
