| Objective:To approach the adverse reaction or the complication,and the therapeutic effect of BACE united PEI in lung cancer.Materials and Methods:Retrospectively analyze the clinical data of 55 patients with lung cancer who underwent interventional treatment in the intervention wards from January 2005 to April 2011. A total of 49 patients with primary lung cancer, of which 46 cases of peripheral to the center in 3 cases, lung metastases in 6 cases. All the cases were solitary lung tumor. A group(BACE) of 30 patients in which underwent simple embolization of bronchial artery infusion chemotherapy,25 cases of male and 5 female patients, aged between 44 to 78 years, average age was 58 years, B group of 25 cases of bronchial arterial chemoembolization combined percutaneous intratumoral ethanol injection dual interventional therapy,19 cases of male and 6 female patients, aged between 40 to 75 years, average age was 56 years,.According to tumor size,group B can be divided into two subgroups, B1 group of maximum tumor diameter was greater than 5cm,B2 the maximum tumor diameter was less than or equal to 5cm.Statistics the therapy number, methods, imaging pictures, adverse reactions or complications of the interventional therapy, the patients'survival status and time of death,all of which were analyzed statistically to assess the short and long term efficacy. The cumulative survival rate calculated ussed the Kaplan-Meier method, survival curves among the groups compared with the log rank test (Log-rank test), differences between groups used X2 test. Results:1. therapeutic effect:55 cases of lung cancer patients, mean age was 61 years old,in which 44 cases was male and 11 female patients,45 cases was failure events, truncated in 10 cases.Use X2 test between A and B groups'age and tumor stage,P>0.05,no statistical significance, with comparability. (1) Evaluation of short term efficacy shows that both groups have one complete response(CR) cases (3.33% and 4.00%);as for partial response(PR) cases,there are 9 for A group (30.00%) and 15 for B group(60.00%); for stable disease cases,there are 12 for A group and 6 cases for B group,40.00% and 24.00% respectively;for progressive disease cases,there are 8 cases for A group and 3 cases for B group,26.67% and 12.00% respectively. The effective power of Group A was 33.33%,Group B was 60.00%.The CR+PR of both groups show significant differ ence(P<0.05),where in the group B proves to be better than group A. (2)Long term efficacy:The average survival time was 5.919 months, median survival time was 5 months in Group A; Group B: the average survival time was 7.868 months, median survival time was 7 months, the cumulative survival analysis showed that the long-term efficacy of BACE united PEI treating lung cancer was better than simple BACE treatment.(3)The average survival time was 7.778 and 7.482 month respectively in the two subgroups of Group B, both of the median survival time were 7.000 months, taking log-rank statistics, P>0.05, two subgroups was no significant difference in survival rate.2.(1) Adverse reactions were postoperative nausea, vomiting, fever, cough, sputum, chest pain after BACE,which were remissed after 3 to 7 days by the medical symptomatic treatment.6 patients white blood cell count were decreased, rised back to normal after treatment.1 patient had chest skin necrosis, chronic ulceration, healed after debridement and medical treatment. No patients had serious complications such as spinal cord injury.(2)After PEI,1(1/25) patient had small pneumothorax with no clinical symptoms self-healed by the medical treatment; 1 patient with a small amount of pleural effusion disappeared after symptomatic treatment;4 (4/25) patients with bloody sputum or hemoptysis, the bleeding stopped after treatment; 5 (5/25)patients with chest pain symptoms, alleviated 1 to 2 days later;cough occurred in 17 cases (17/25) during surgery, relieved after 2 to 3 hours; no hemothorax, infection, tumor metastasis along the needle and other adverse reactions or complications occurred.Conclusion:1. BACE is one of the effective treatment to unresectable stageâ…¢,â…£stage primary lung cancer or lung metastases.2. BACE united PEI therapy to treat stageâ…¢and stageâ…£primary lung cancer or lung metastases is much better than BACE only in tumor response rate and long-term efficacy, which reduce tumor volume, shrink tumor recurrence and metastasis.This method is useful to alleviate the symptoms and signs, improve the patients'quality of life and prolong survival.3. For more than 5cm of lung cancer, BACE United PEI therapy is an effective integrated treatment programs.4. BACE United PEI therapy have the advantages of invasive, safe, reliable, light side effects, efficacy and so on.
