| Background:In recent years, many studies show that microalbuminuria (MAU) is not only reflect early renal damage by high blood pressure, but also reflect systemic vascular endothelial cells from damage.It is closely related with systemic atherosclerosis.Carotid intima media thickness (C-IMT) refers to the thickness of carotid endarterectomy and membrane, the thickening of it marked atherosclerosis, it happened earlier than plaques formation and be recognized as the early sign of atherosclerosis.Objects:To investigate the relationship between MAU and C-IMT in patients with essential hypertension. To discusses the clinical value of microalbuminuria in diagnosis and treatment of hypertension.Methods:This article involved 135 patients with essential hypertension in Shanxi medical university first clinical hospital from April 2010 to January 2011.We registered the clinical data and some biochemical indicators. Under 24h urinary albumen quantity, we divided them into NMCA group(0-30mg/24h) and MCA group(30-300mg/24h). Color Doppler Ultrasonic Examination was be used to test C-IMT and occurring rate of atherosclerosis spots. To compare two groups of clinical data,biochemical indicators,C-IMT,C-IMT thicking rate and spots occurring rate; To analysis the correlation of microalbuminuria level and C-IMT.Results:â‘ ,There's more marked statistical difference on SBP,LDL in the MCA than the NMCA group, while others no statistical difference;â‘¡,MCA group had more marked statistical difference than NMCA group on C-IMT,C-IMT thickening rate and spots occurring rate;â‘¢,C-IMT was in positive relation with MAU.Conclusion:MAU is closely related to C-IMT in patients with EH,.which hints the level of MAU is not only related to renal disease, but also can be used as an early significant index of atherosclerosis in EH patients. We should pay attention to the test of microalbuminuria in patients with essential hypertension.
