Objective:To study the effect of Thalidomide on immune cytokines and its treatment to patients with psoriasis, and to provide experimental evidence for clinical application of thalidomide treatment of psoriasis.Methods:. According to the principle of random distribution, 60 cases of patients with psoriasis were collected and were randomly divided into 2 groups-27 cases in the experimental group and 33 cases in the control group.Thalidomide was used in the treatment of the patients from the experimental group. And MTX was used in the control group.Double-antibody sandwich ELISA and flow cytometry were applied to detect and compare the levels of IL-2,TNF-,CD4+,CD8+in the blood of each patient before and after treatment. We tried to find out how does Thalidomide affect the cellular immune function in patients with psoriasis by using those methods. And we evaluated the efficacy of the experimental group and the control group, then used Chi-square test for statistical treatment by the applications of SPSS 13.0 statistical software, taking a=0.05 level for the test of significance. Results:①Before treatment, the levels of IL-2, TNF-α, CD4+ Tcells, CD4+/CD8+of the experimental group were close to that of the control group. The difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).②After treatment, the levels of IL-2, TNF-α, CD4+ Tcells, CD4+/CD8+ of the two groups both declined. The drop of the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).③Comparing the efficacy of the control group and the experimental group, the total effective rate of the latter was significantly higher than that of the former. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).④Comparing the incidence of adverse reactions, the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:①Thalidomide can effectively regulate the immune status of patients with psoriasis, lower the proinflammatory cytokines (IL-2,TNF-α) in the peripheral blood, and correct the ratio imbalance of Tcell subsets CD4+/CD8+.②Comparing with the traditional immunosuppressive MTX treatment to psoriasis, Thalidomide has a good effect and fewer side effects to psoriasis.
