Objective:the aim of this study is to explore radioprotective effect of the lycopene, soybean isoflavone and their mixture on the tumor-bearing mice treated with irradiaton. And this radioprotective effection has no effect on killing tumor cell by irradiaton.Methods:S180 tumor-bearing mice were divided into five group:Tumor group, irradiaton radiated Tumor group,Lycopene group,Soybean isoflavone group and Mixture group. In Tumor group, irradiaton radiated Tumor group, salad oil was applied to mice. In Lycopene group,Soybean isoflavone group and Mixture group, certain medicines were applied to mice for 14 consecutive days At the sametime all mice were given the normal feeds. at the 7th day and 14th day the mice were given 3.5Gy whole body X-ray radiation. All mice were sacrificed at the 15th day, variations in counts of white blood cell, erythrocytes and platelet, weight, tumor weight, the tumor weight and weight ratio, thymus'index, SOD and CAT's result in liver tissue, kidney tissue and blood serum, nuclear cells in mice thighbone's marrow, were studied. results were Analysised by SPSS 17.0 software. Results:Both lycopene and soybean isoflavone have radioprotective effect on thymus, hematopoietic system and marrow of the tumor-bearing mice injured by irradiaton. They also can clean the free radicals whitch caused by X-ray efficiently. Mixture group has the best effect than Lycopene group and Soybean isoflavone group in radioprotective effection of marrow. They worked in coordination whit each other. The radioprotective effection of these medicine do nothing on killing tumor cell by X-ray. Conclusions:Lycopene cooperated with soybean isoflavone in radioprotective effection.
