The study was a cross-sectional study since 2007. And the objective of this study was to assess the epidemiology and some genetic aspects of cleft lip and palate and surgical outcome in a Jilin province population funded by The Smile Train. Discover the factors related to the occurrence cleft lip and palate, Provide the basis for therapy of cleft lip and palate.Result:1,Constitute the source of patients:441 patients from rural areas, Accounted for 79.32%; 32 patients of urban origin, accounting for 5.76%; 83 patients the source of the city, accounting for 14.93%.2,42.81%(238 cases) of the 556 recorded patients were cleft palate.23.92%(133 cases)were cleft lip.33.27%(185 cases)were cleft lip and palate.3,Constitute left and right:Left-sided defects were more common than right-sided.Unilateral cleft lip ratio was 1:0.55.From a gender perspective, male ratio of left and right was1:0.60; Female ratio was 1:0.47.Unilateral cleft lip with cleft palate ratio was 1:0.54.From a gender perspective,male ratio was 1:0.64, female ratio was 1:0.39.4,Constitute unilateral and bilateral:Cleft lip patients, unilateral:bilateral =13.78.Cleft lip with cleft palate, unilateral:bilateral=3.40:1.Total unilateral: bilateral=5.24:1.Various types of unilateral cleft lip and palate are more than bilateral.Simple cleft lip and cleft lip with cleft palate,the unilateral and bilateral constitutes had a significant difference compared.5,Constitute gender:Total on male to female ratio was1.11:1. Cleft lip male to female ratio was 1.66:1.Cleft palate ratio was 0.60:1.Cleft lip with cleft palate ratio was 1.89:1. Various types of male to female ratio had significantly different.6,Constitute birth:Cases born in January and May more than in other months.Significantly different monthly distribution。Cleft lip was born in July of the largest percentage of the maximum, the minimum was born in April; Cleft palate was born in October of the largest, accounting for 11.34%, the minimum was born in August, accounting for 6.30%。Patients with cleft lip and cleft palate was born in January of the largest, accounting for 12.43%, born in 10 months was minimum, accounting for 5.41%。cases of cleft lip distributed in the spring, the least number of cleft palate in no significant difference between the distribution of each season.The number of patients distribution of cleft lip with cleft palate for was least in the fall.7,Family history:8 cases had family history.There was 5 cases of unilateral cleft lip(3 males and 2 females), the percentage was 27.78%; There was 2 cases of cleft palate(1 male and 1 female), the percentage was 1 1.1%;There was 11 cases cleft lip with cleft palate(7 males and 4 females), the percentage was 61.11%.8,associated malformation:Patients with a variety of malformations combined total of 21 patients,3.78% of the total number of cases. Patients with cleft lip alone no consolidated record of all defects. Cleft palate deformity combined all 16 patients, accounting for the number of combined malformations 76.19%. Cleft lip with cleft palate deformity combined all 5 patients, accounting for the number of combined malformations 23.81%. Three significant differences between(P<0.05).The cases we selected were funded by Smile Train, Representatived the basic situation of cleft lip and palate relatively backward economic conditions in our province. Reported results consistent with domestic and foreign, regardless of sex unilateral than bilateral and the left than the right. The number of cleft lip and cleft lip with palate was more male than femal.The number cleft palate was more femal than male.At home and abroad have reported inconsistent results, the largest proportion of patients with cleft lip, small proportion of malformations associated with.There were no case with malformation. The study also found that cleft lip alone distribution of the number of cases in the spring at least, cleft palate in no significant difference between the distribution of each season, distribution of cleft lip with cleft palate at least the number of patients in the fall; family history is one of the causes cleft lip and palate.
