Object To study the occupational stress status and its influential factors on the staff of the thermal power plants. To assess the effect on the levels of glucose, blood lipid and Heat Shock Protein 70(HSP70) at different levels of Personal Strain Questionnaire (PSQ). To provide a scientific guidance for release the pressure of the staff form Thermal Power Plant and explore the occupational stress assessment indicators of Physiology. Methods Professional hygiene and occupational hazards in the work environment of Thermal Power Plant were investigated and detected, and the occupational stress from 900 workers and 225 administrative staff logistics were measured with the Occupational Stress Inventory-Revised (OSI-R) and the General Questionnaires, according to the T-score conversion of general population to estimate the level of occupational stress which were randomly grouped and 30 patients from different positions were selected and the levels of glucose, blood lipid and HSP70 protein were measured by the methods of biochemical and ELISA.Results The result of statistical analysis showed that the score of Occupational Role Questionnaire(ORQ), PSQ and Personal Resources Questionnaire(PRQ) in 17.6%, 68.5% and 13.9% of the staff was greater than 60 cents, about 19.1%, 75.2% and 15.7% was lower than 60 cents. Compare with that of general population, the staff'score of ORQ, PSQ and PRQ are higher(P<0.05). The primary influential factors of PSQ including marriage situation, duty type, role boundary, physical environment, role ambiguity, responsibility, recreation and social support. The staff'score of ORQ correlated with PSQ(P<0.05), and the score of ORQ was not significant negatively contrast with PSQ(P>0.05). The staff'levels of glucose, lipid and HSP70 in blood correlated with PSQ(P<0.01), and levels of blood glucose and blood lipid correlated with ORQ (P<0.05), but the level of HSP70 negatively correlated with ORQ(P>0.05). The primary influential factors of glucose including PSQ and age. The primary influential factors of blood lipid including PSQ, age and body mass index(BMI). The primary influential factors of HSP70 was PSQ.and PSQ was considerable influence among the factors. The levels of blood glucose, blood lipid of high-PSQ group was significantly higher than moderate-PSQ group and appropriate-PSQ group (P<0.05), but there were not significant between moderate-PSQ group and appropriate-PSQ group(P>0.05), and the difference between the levels of HSP70 and the former three groups were significant (P<0.05). Conclusion1,Most of the staff from the thermal Power Plants are under normal occupational stress level, but the stress of some people is still severe. The influential factors of stress mainly including marriage stuation, duty type, role boundary, physical environmen, role ambiguity, responsibility, recreation and social support.2,The levels of glucose, blood lipid and HSP70 increased with the score of PSQ.
