Objective:To revise the Griffith mental development scales and establish the urban norm inChina. To explore intelligent quotient(IQ) of infants and its relative risk factors, for furtherscientific intervention. Methods:The standardization samples consisted of 473 children aged0-3-year-old were collected in 13 provinces in six administrative regions. There were 13sampling points including cities and rural areas of each province. Each subject was testedindividually by specially trained testers using Griffith mental development scales(1984)andone by one filled test record. At the same time using a questionnaire designed to collect childrengenerally, including basic status, family status, mother's pregnancy situation, the situation ofchildren. and the T-test, the variance analysis and the multivariate linear regression to analyzeintelligence development influencing factors.Results:1. Standardization of the Griffiths mental development scalesThe study surveyed 473 cases of actual collection divided into four age groups 0-3 years, 0months -12 months a total of 171 people, 13 months -24 months a total of 164 people, 25 months-36 months a total of 72, 37 a total of 37 months -48 months. 249 boys and 224 girls. 298 urbanchildren, 175rural children. Basically meet the requirements of the sample size, sex ratio quite, big gap between urban and rural areas.1.1 Project locationRespectively recorded the statistics of each item in the corresponding age groups in theirpass rates, according to the pass rate to adjust. Required each project in the corresponding agegroup of about 50% pass rate, the back of the sub-tests is lower than the previous project. thescale was adjusted 91item s forward , 12 projects backward, plus 20 new items.1.2 Determine the difficulty and discriminatingThe difficulty is ease of the project. Usually the number of subjects by percentage of eachproject as an indicator, the greater its value, the lower the degree of difficulty; discernment, andis measured by test items on the distinction between the psychological characteristics of theextent of this study was to analyze the project and the total score Relevant to estimate thediscrimination. The results showed: the averag difficulty of revised total scale and each subtestwas 0.5 .,and discriminating was 0.7.1.3 Reliability Evaluation the reliability of the scale were tested by reliability, test-retest reliability, internalreliability. Correlation analysis showed consistency between the test more than 0.95; interval of 2weeks after the re-test, two test score calculated Pearson correlation coefficients between thetotal development quotient of the correlation coefficient of 0.92, was significant; of 473 The sixsub-tests of children of internal reliability analysis, Cronbach coefficient = 0.80> 0.7.1.4 ValidityEvaluation the validity of the scale were tested by content validity, construct validity, criterion validity. Through from Shanxi Medical University, China Rehabilitation ResearchCenter, Shanghai East China Normal University review of 12 experts agreed that the variousdimensions of the scale items represented the specific aspects of the six subject, had goodcontent validity degree; using principal component analysis on correlation matrix of eachsub-test analysis showed only a common factor that g factor, the sub-tests had a high level of gload factor, the variance contribution rate was 62.2%; the same time using the Griffiths MentalDevelopmental Scale and diagnosis of Infant Development Inventory to measure the rate of IQof 40 children.Pearson correlation coefficient of the IQ of two methods was 0.93, was significant.2. Analysis of influencing factors in infants aged 0-3-year-old mental development2.1 Single factor analysis of mental developmentSingle factor analysis showed that children's intellectual development related with parentaleducation, family income, family total number of children, production, birth weight andgestational age, is or high fever, the prevalence of infancy, the prevalence of childhood.2.2 Multivariate factor analysis of mental developmentMultivariate factor analysis showed that: mother education level, gestational age at birth ofchildren, whether there had been a high fever were affected the intellectual development ofchildren. Conclusion:The revised 0-3 years in China, Griffiths mental development scale had good reliability andvalidity .the scale can be used on clinical assessment of children's intelligence level, worthy ofnationwide application. Efforts to improve parent education level, as long as possible duringpregnancy, making it 34 weeks, and taking care of children after birth to reduce fever occur, theability to promote the healthy development of infants and young children have an important role.
