The Experimental Study On The Anti-stress Effects Of Aromatic Drugs

Object:Based on the Traditional Chinese medical theory, the drug effects and the clinical application features of the aromatic drugs, we utilize modern pharmacological experimental methods observing the anti-stress capability of the aromatic drugs as to muskiness, borneol, benzoin, and styrax these four drugs and their extractives, in hopes of providing the scientific basis for the clinical application.Methods:From the swimming experiment, we observe how these four drugs and their extractives affect the swimming time of the lab rats; From the anti-anoxia experiment in normal pressure, we observe the effects towards the anti-anoxia capability of these drugs mentioned above; From the LPS mortal attack experiment towards the D-GalN-sensitized rats, we observe the anti-endotoxin capability of these drugs and their extractives.Results:(1) Swimming experiment:Compare with the 5%Tween control group, the muskiness group and their extractive groups (Petroleum ether extracted, Ether extracted) can extend the rats swimming time span obviously (p<0.01, p<0.05); the styrax extractive group (Ether extracted) and the borneol group can also extend the rats swimming time span(p<0.05); other groups have not obvious effects (p>0.05).(2) Anti-anoxia experiment in normal pressure:Compare with the 5%Tween control group, the muskiness group and their extractive groups (Petroleum ether extracted, Ether extracted) can extend the rats survival time (p<0.05); the styrax group and their extractive groups (Petroleum ether extracted, Ether extracted, N-butanol extracted) and the borneol group can also extend the rats survival time (p<0.05); other groups have not obvious effects (p>0.05).(3) The LPS mortal attack experiment:â‘ Compare with the 5%Tween control group, after 5 hours attacked by LPS, the muskiness group and their extractive groups can reduce the mortality rate obviously(p<0.05); after 7 hours, muskiness group and the Petroleum ether extractive group, the borneol group can reduce the mortality rate obviously(p<0.05); after 9 hours, the borneol group can reduce the mortality rate significantly(p<0.05).â‘¡Compare with the 5% Tween control group and 5% Tween+0.2% CMC control group, after 5 hours attacked by LPS, the benzoin extractive group (Petroleum ether extracted, Ether extracted) can reduce the mortality rate(p<0.05); after 7 hours, the benzoin extractive group (Petroleum ether extracted) can reduce the mortality rate(p<0.05); other groups have not obvious effects (p>0.05).(4) The cold-stimulation experiment:â‘ Compared with the 5%Tween control group, in 1.5 hours attacked by cold-stimulation, the muskiness group,their Petroleum ether extractive groups and their aether extractive groups can reduce the mortality rate obviously(p<0.05);â‘¡in 1.5 hours attacked by cold-stimulation, borneol can reduce the mortality rate obviously(p<0.05); in 1.5 hours attacked by cold-stimulation,;â‘¢in 1.5 hours attacked by cold-stimulation, styrax group,their Petroleum ether extractive groups and their aether extractive groups can reduce the mortality rate obviously(p<0.05);â‘£Compare with the 5% Tween control group and 5% Tween+0.2% CMC control group, the benzoin group and their extractive groups cannot reduce the mortality rate obviously(p>0.05). (5) The model of rat cerebal damage:Compare with the 5%Tween control group and the 5% Tween control group and 5% Tween+0.2% CMC control group, the muskiness,the borneol,the styrax and the benzoin cannot change the animal model's index of heart rate,blood pressure,temperature and the level of ACTH and CORT(p>0.05).Conclusion:Both these four drugs themselves and their extractives can extend the time span in swimming,can extend survival time in cold-stimulation and the anti-anoxia survival time in normal pressure, they also have protection towards the rats suffer from LPS mortal attacks, which imply that these four drugs have some little effect of anti-stress. But they cannot change the animal model's index of heart rates,temperature and the level of ACTH and CORT. In aggregate, to a certain extent, they imply that the effect of anti-stress of these four drugs have associated with other ways.
