Special-shaped Plate For Treatment Of Intra-articular Calcaneal Fractures

Objective To study the curative effect of surgical treatment of the intra articular calcaneal fracture,the clinical data of intra articular calcaneal fractures in our hospital were analysed. Methods From September 2007 to October 2009,42 patients who suffered from intra articular calcaneal fracture were enrolled in this study.34 male and 8female were included in this group with the mean age of 38.4 years(ranged from 18 to 62 years). Injury causes:32 cases of falling injuries, ten cases of car accident injuries. Clinical and imaging examinations were performed before operation.Degrees of softtissue injury and time of operation were estimated in all cases.Problems including the choice of approach and protecting soft tissues should be paid attention to during the operation.Rehabilitation trainings were practiced on patients,and active measures were taken actively to prevent the complications.Maryland Foot Score System for the fractures of calcaneus was used for evaluation one year later. Results The 42cases of adequate follow-up time of 8～14 months, an average of 12 months.20 cases were excellent,16 cases were good,5 cases were fair,1 case was bad. By the Maryland foot score system for evaluation, the excellent and good rate was 85.7%.Conclusion Surgical treatment had a good result in the intra articular calcaneal fracture, as long as the master principle of treatment, surgical indications and surgical timing, at tent ion to non-invasive surgery techniques, refresher facial subtalar joint anatomical relations, the restoration of Bolher angle, Gissane calcaneal angle and body length, width and height; attention to postoperative drainage, the application of antibiotics, wound care, early functional exercise, and achieved satisfactory results.
