Objective: To make a study of the safe angles and safe depths of Jiuwei and Shangwan in different directions using the technology of MRI in order to provide clinicians with a basis of safe acupuncture, and to prevent clinical accidents. Methods: 1.This study randomly selected 20 volunteers, 10 male and 10 female with an average age of 25.20±2.65. 2. Measure and mark their acupoints of Jiuwei and Shangwan. 3. Scan Jiuwei and Shangwan with MRI in sagittal and horizontal planes. 4. Change the photos attained into JPG format and then measure the safe angles and safe depths of the acupoints using eFilm workstation. 5. Statistics disposal with SPSS17.0: according to homogeneity of variance test, homogeneity of variance using t-test, non- homogeneity of variance using similar t-test. 6.Get the safe angles and safe depths of Jiuwei and Shangwan according to Yan Zhenguo's formula of safe depth and Li Yadong's formula of safe angle: safe depth≤average dangerous depth×75﹪, safe angle≤average dangerous angle- 10°.Results:1.
