With the arrival of missionaries, Western-style hospitals in China's treaty ports were established. A new health care system established in the late Qing , the concept of Western medicine also will appear .With the spread of western doctors and western medicine in China, more and more people are aware of their benefits, all levels of their understanding are deepen. At the same time the army and the prevention of diseases based on practical needs, there are some government-run schools and Western Medicine Hospital the first to land in Zhili.During Li Hongzhang and Yuan Shikai served as Viceroy of Zhili ,medical education in Zhili of the late Qing develop rapidly. They have founded various types of medical school such as the Beiyang Medical School,Beiyang Army Northern Medical School, Medical School in Baoding, Beiyang Woman Medical School. At the same time Zhili send a large number of students went to Japan and the United States to study Western medicine.In addition, a number of universities set up medical courses, universal medical knowledge. Western medical education in Zhili have features, for example excellent teachers, students from a wide range, subjects complete, the integrity institute, adequate funding.Western schools in Zhili of the late Qing have trained a large number of health administration, medical education, public health and so on all kinds of talents at all levels,at the same time support the medical needs of the Northeast, led the development of education in surrounding areas, improved public health environment. Overall grasp of Western educational status of Zhili, it is better to understand development and origin of Western education in nationalwide.
