Clinical Application Of Intense Pulsed Light Technique On Facial Photoaging

Objective: Photoaging is caused by chronically sun exposure and characterized with fine and coarse wrinkles, roughness, driness, laxity, dyspigmentations, telangiectasia, et al. Among the nonablative rejuvenation techniques, intense pulsed light(IPL) treatment has great advantages over others. To study the adjustment of intense pulsed light treatment of photoaging of treatment interval and treatment dose, assess their impact on the treatment effect.Methods: Utilizing Lumenis One laser treatment instrument IPL treatment endpoint of the company Lumenis, we treate 20 cases meeting the diagnostic criteria of photoaging and skin lesions around the face to are relatively symmetrical female subjects. In the procedure, treatment subjects were divided into 4 times treatments side, 8 times therapeutic side, one the treatnment scheme is once every 3 weeks and altogether four times with a relatively large dose; the other is once a week and totally eight weeks with a relatively small dose. We evaluate the treatment effect after treatment one month separately.Results: According to the contrast of photographs before and after treatment in one month, we found that, bilateral facial lesions have subsided after treatment, satisfaction rate of the subjects on both sides reached 70%. According to the comparison of photos before and after treatment doctor found that the lesions subside on both sides were more than 80%, and no statistical difference.Conclusion: The intense pulsed light treatment of photoaging effect remarkably. Reduction of the therapeutic dose, shortening the treatment interval and increase the times of treatment affect the treatment effect little, but onset rapidly.4 times treatments side: 7 patients rated their results as excellent, 7as good, and 5 as fair.Just one rated unsatisfied with the treatment and the astisfactory rate reached . 8 times treatments side: 8 patients rated their results as excellent, 6 as good,and 5 as fair. One rated unsatisfied with the treatment and the astisfactory rate reached .Comparing to pretreatment, no significant differences were observed between the 4 times treatment side and 8 times treatment side.
