Primary study on the synthesis of a new Immonium Type dehydrating agent and the preliminary Application in the conversion of aldoximes into nitriles were reported. Besides, a variety of amines were synthesized under ultrasonic irradiation with zinc and acetic acid in satisfactory yields. This thesis consists of three chapters.Chapter 1: PrefaceChapter 2: Synthesis of a new Immonium type dehydrating agent NHPI-DMF due to the advantages of readily available reagents and ease of work-up. Aldoximes were converted into corresponding nitriles by using NHPI-DMF as dehydrating agent. The results showed that the method has features of mild reaction conditions, ease of work-up and high yields.Chapter 3: A variety of oximes were reduced into corresponding amines with zinc and acetic acid under Ultrasonic Irradiation. The high yields and ease of work-up together with eco-friendly conditions should make this protocol an important addition to the currently available methods.
