Infectious Diseases And The Government Response (1949～1957)

In the early period of the founding of New China ,various infectious diseases , which broadcast widely , infect frequently , cause dead in a high rate , break out in Hebei Province frequently and have a great effect and a great deal of danger in our society .Besides amounts of epidemic diseases are left over before the liberation of Old China,the causes of Epidemic process themselves are effected by natural factors(Including Climate, geography and ecology etc.)and social factors(Including Little paying and saving, Feudalistic and superstitious ideas, Poor living conditions , Bad care of medical and health ,and so on). With the face of development of infectious diseases, government has taken a series of effective measures: to carry out active and effective sanitation and epidemic prevention awareness; to make planned immunization so as to improve people's ability of immunity; to establish the epidemic reporting system and early warning mechanisms; to establish and develop the prevention organizations of epidemic diseases; to train health personnel; to implement quarantine system in the aspect of port and transportation as well as to make the patriotic public health campaign. By the tireless efforts of the Government and the majority of the people during ten years, the disease prevention and control in early time have been founded in some extent successfully, laid the foudation for future prevention.
