Objective To study changes and relationships between HbAlc andβ-cell function in a health population. Methods 68 healths were randomly selected, and their sex, age, height, weight, past medical history and medication history were recorded. Their fasting venous blood samples were taken to measure HbA1c, FPG, FINS, TG, HDL-C. BMI, HOMA-IR, HOMA-β, DI, HOMA-IRZ were calculated With their formulae, recorded as measurement data. Two-sample t-test and bivariate correlation were used in the statistics. Results Statistical results showed that in the healths,1. The values of HbA1c elevated along with the values of FPG, in significant positive correlation (P=0.01);2. It is found that there are significant correlations between HbAlc and HOMA-IR (p=0.017), DI (p=0.018) and HOMA-IRZ (p=0.012), but not between HbA1c and HOMA-β(P=0.728);3. It is found that between healths with FPG above 5.5mmol/L (group A) and under 5.5mmol/L (group B), there are significant differences on FINS (p=0.038), HOMA-IR (p=0.001), DI (p<0.001), HOMA-IRZ (p=0.001), but not on age and BMI (p>0.05)4. It is found that between healths with HbA1c above 5.2%(group A) and under 5.2% (group B), there are significant difference only on FPG (p<0.05) but not on others. It is found that between healths with HbA1c above 5.5%(group A) and under 5.5%(group B), there are significant differences on FBG (p=0.008), HOMA-IR (p=0.039), TG (p=0.028), DI (p =0.042), HOMA-IRZ (p=0.043),with statistical significance. Conclusions in healths,1. With the HbA1c levels increased, there are significant differences on HOMA-IR, DI, HOMA-IRZ, but not on HOMA-β.2. Thrie is linear positive correlation between HbAlc and FPG3. Between healths with FPG above 5.5mmol/L and under 5.5mmol/L, there are significant differences on two groups of insulin secretion and resistance levels.4. There are significant changes in isletβ-cell function when HbAlc≥5.5%.
