Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of Heel and cyclin Dl and various clinical pathological character in transitional cell cancinoma of bladder. Methods:The expression of Heel and cyclin Dl was examined in 15 cases of normal bladder mucosas,20 cases of peripheral noncancerous tissues and 85 TCC tissues by means of immunohistochemical method. Results:Positive rates of Heel and cyclin Dl in 85 cases of bladder carcinoma were 61.2%and 52.9%respectively.Heel and cyclin Dl were all significantly higher than that in the normal bladder tissue and the peripheral noncancerous tissues(P< 0.05).Heel and cyclin D1 expressions were related to the bladder carcinoma grade and clinic stage(P< 0.05).A significantly positive correlation was observed between the expression of Heel and that of cyclin Dl in bladder carcinoma tissues (r=0.265, P<0.05).Conclusion:Overexpression of Heel and cyclin Dl in bladder carcinoma suggests that its may play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of BTCC. Both of them can be the indictors of pathological grades and clinic stage.
