Background Nutrition labeling is to show the composition, Characteristics and performance of food, which is the primary measure to delivery nutrition information to consumers, it is the simplest and the most direct way to have access to nutrition knowledge. With the increasing frequency of international trade, nutrition labeling has become an important non-tariff barriers that U.S. has been taken. For businesses and merchandise trade, nutrition labeling is the effective means of supervising Corporate behavior, reducing the misleading propaganda as well as protecting the food enterprise have an health development road. Along with the increasing improvement of social progress and consumer health consciousness, our food labels is converting, Mainly to protect the consumers against financial loss in 70-80 years of the 20th century, transforming to protect the consumers from harmful health-based risk factors in 90 years of the 20th century. With the increasing Nutrition labeling is a new starting point of food to making tracks for "Nutrient", and "Health", representing the food industry modernization and progress of human civilization. Particularly after the accession to WTO, with the food import and export trade, and food consumption increased, the correct food nutrition label content and form have been became an beneficial means for fair trade and to improve the favorable trade competition, but also the source to ensure public health protection guarantee, so using food nutrition labels and drawing up management practices related to nutrition labeling has far-reaching.China's "standardize the management of food nutritional labels" which shortened form is "standardize". After at least 5 years of discussion, development and modifications, completed two rounds of comments. Promulgated for implementation on May 1,2008, formally promulgated and implemented on May 1,2010, the trial period has two years. Food nutrition label is to provide consumers with nutrition information and characteristics of food description, Nutrition label is to make consumers know more nutritional information, choose healthy food, simultaneously it would also lead companies to produce more healthy products,promote the development of food industry, create a virtuous circle. When consumer purchasing, they know what they are according to law. It is likewise that the premise and key prerequisite to protecting the consumers'other Legitimate rights and interests.Objective The purpose of this study was to understand (1) Understanding during the pre-implementation period of the"standardize",whether the enterprise follow the provisions.(2) Looking at the implementation, the main form of content, including the implementation of labeling, content awareness, the understanding of "standardardize". (3) Through this investigation, coming to understand the efforts of missionaries about nutrition labeling knowledge. By comparing the "Standardize" issued before and after the promulgation, During the voluntary implementation period the enterprise in accordance with the "standardize" implementation have discrepancies, Including What are the deviation in the implementation,what the inadequate, what it inspire us, otherwise, how we guide our business, the role of missionary to consumers. To find out the status label on China's current pre-packaged food (including Nutrition Facts, nutrition claims and nutrient function claims), analyzing the existing problems of the food labelings,make recommendations. Putting forward the proposals so as to provide the scientific evidence for the further nutrition knowledge education and nutrition propaganda education.Method With the way of taking photographs, transcribing and buying the food to record Label Logo status in Beijing and Shanghai supermarkets, using the method of spot investigation.Getting the main information:(1)To see whether the format of nutrition labeling is meeting the "standard" requirements;(2)To investigate the Nutrition Facts, including the name of each nutrient, Units marked and NRV marked. To make notes of nutrition informations containing the identification of core and non-core nutrients. Whether the Sequence before and after the mark Consistent with "standard" requirements. Whether it marked some content that out of the "standard" provisions analyzing the NRV%.(3) To survey the situation nutrition claims terms, To make notes of whatever terms appear on the nutrition labels. To see Whether the Sequence before and after the mark Consistent with "standard" requirements.(4) To investigate the Nutrition components function claims, to see which nutrients make functional claims, whether it was in line with "standard" requirements. Whether it marked some content that out of the "standard" provisions. To see if nutrition labelings have some illegibility Language to suggest consumers buying it,whether it convey untruthful information to the consumers.To find out the present situation after the "standard" Implementation more than one year, assessing the Implementation Effect. Putting the results of investigation to computer, Building a database with Excell, as well as using SPSS 13.0 to make the Statistical analysis.Results In totally, among investigating seven categories eight hundred and thirty five kinds of common pre-packaged foods, showed that the ratio of food nutrition label was 59.5 percent. Nutrition Labeling rate of more than half.Identification rate of various types of foods have significant difference, it has the meaning in statistic analysis (P<0.01). Including higher marked are milk and dairy products, beverage labels, respectively, 92.9percent,71.1 percent; the rate of Soy products and snacks were 65.6 percent,54.7 percent.; the rate of Cereal products was 46.3 percent;The lowest rate of 497 kinds of foods that have the nutrition labeling was meat,was 12.7 percent.According to the packaged food nutrition labeling survey results in 2002 show that the highest rate of dairy products, was 51.3 percent; the rate of Soy products was 50.0 percent; the rate of snack was 13.6 percent; Cereal products was 5.3 percent; Meat products were almost has no nutrition label marked. The rate of it was nearly zero.There were 497 kinds of foods have nutrition claim marking. In the Core nutrients,including energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate. The highest ratio is 92 percent for "protein", otherwise the marking of sodium is only of 47.3 percent. According to the "standardize the management of food nutritional labels "the ratio of NRV%was more than 50 percent; the ratio of nutrition and nutrition components claims was 40 percent and 16.9 percent respectively; there was a significant difference in nutrition labels marking between different categories of food; The current food nutritional labeling was not normative.The ratio of nutrition components claims was 16.9 percent. There were eighty kinds nutrients had the nutrition components claim marking,61.9 percent consistent with "standard" requirements. Frequency terms from the label claim can be learned that calcium, vitamin C, vitamin D, dietary fiber, vitamin A living in the top.Conclusions Compare before the "standardized" implementation, the marked of nutrition label nutrients, nutrition claims, nutrient function claims had increased of pre-packaged food. But logo is not et standardized, marked arbitrary large. Strictly in accordance with the " standardized " provisions. As for food production enterprises, to Implement the "standardize" can guide the enterprise, leading them to develop more reasonable food nutritional value actively. Marked reasonably detailed nutrition label information should display the characteristics and attributes of food-products. It can also Indirectly improve some people's dietary quality among who are not used to reading nutrition labels.Government has taken an effect measures to make an proper supervision and guidance, making China's food nutrition label for more "standardized". By increasing Nutrition labeling mark is a new starting point of food to making tracks for "nutrient", and "health", representing the food industry modernization and progress of human civilization.Helping us up to a higher level of understanding nutrition labeling. Implementing the " standardized " is also an effective means of publicity and a good way for a missionary on the nutrition label knowledge.
