ObjectivesThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the effictiveness by comparing different time points of TCM cycle therapy of treatment of mammary gland hyperplasia which included taking medicine during menstruation and taking medicine after the menstruation, thus, provided clinical medication preliminarily.MethodsThe study was designed to the same period in randomized controlled trials. Research for January 2009～December 2009 breast Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital out-patient clinics with mammary gland hyperplasia. Meeting in the condition of 100 patients were randomly divided into two groups, and every 50 cases. The treatment group mainly took medicine of XiaoPi2 oral liquid from the 5th day to the 16 day of menstrual cycle, and then took medicine of XiaoPil oral liquid from the 17th day to the next menstrual cramps,1 bottle each time, three times a day. The control group mainly took medicine of XiaoPi2 oral liquid from thelth day to the 16 day of menstrual cycle, others identically. Both groups took XiaoPi4 oral liquid additionally if blood stasis symptoms were heavier and took XiaoPi6 oral liquid additionally if Yin with nipple discharge or excessive blood symptoms were heavier.Patients who had constipation took XiaoPi5 oral liquid additionally. Continuous treatment for 3 months, and then compared the therapeutic effects of the two different solutions. establishment of databases, debugging run correctly, it collected data by dual input method, after verification for statistical analysis. Analysis of all data using SPSS 17.0 statistical software package, counted data compared between groop using chi square test, measurement data compared between groop using t test. non-normality of variance and grade data compared between groop using rank. And so on.ResultPatients into two groups when the baseline group difference was not statistically significant, comparable. After treatment by the two options, two groups had no statistical significance (P>0.05) in the main therapeutic indexes such as the difference of breast pain, breast tenderness,breast lump hardness, tenderness mass distribution, breast tumor size and so on, so as the accompany symptoms. In the three months of treatment, as the extension of time, two groups's extent in breast pain, breast tenderness, breast lump hardness, breast tumor size and the accompany symptoms were all ameliorative. Both groups'adverse reaction was mainly for menorrhagia including 3 cases in treatment group and the control group 6cases,which had no statistically significant difference. Two cases'differences in drug costs monthly were statistically significant (P>0.05).ConclusionThe study explored the effictiveness and safety of TCM therapy at different time points of treatment of mammary gland hyperplasia basing on the menstrual cycle in physiological and the growth physiology characteristic of qi and blood, at the same time, combining modern medicine in menstrual cycle theory of endocrine regulation. This research showed that:TCM therapy at different time points of for treatment of mammary gland hyperplasia which included took medicine during menstruation and after the menstruation had similar effect in acetanilide, abreacting breast lumps and alleviating the accompany symptoms. On the basis of TCM syndrome differentiation, periodic therapy for mammary gland hyperplasia was effectively. Taking medicine after the menstruation had less adverse reaction, and could reduce the patients'cost, which maybe a better cycle treatment preliminarily.
