| Acne is a chronic inflammation of glandulae sebaceae in hair follicle. When the glandulae sebaceae and pore are blocked, the sebum can not flow smoothly, acne will occur. In part, the normal people sebum overflow, especially high prealence of dermatology clinic, is the common disease, frequently-occurring disease. Many teenagers are in severe cases. Part of facial pigmentation after will produce more, scar, depression, affecting not only beautiful appearance, etc, but also producing larger for patients with severe mental pressure, the effect of physical and mental health. Timely and effective treatment for improving the quality of life of the patients is very important.ObjectiveDiscuss using intense pulsed light and traditional Chinese herbal facial mask can shorten the therapeutic period for the treatment of acne vulgaris and improve the therapeutic effect, thus reducing the using time of IPL, reduce the economic burden of the patients.MethodsThe research is prospective study, semi-random control trial was conducted.Through literature study and regulating the organic combination of clinical research, comparing the different effects to IPL with herbal mask for treating acne vulgaris and pure IPL or herbal mask to treating acne vulgaris. Discuss if the treatment of IPL with herbal mask therapy can shorten the therapeutic period, and improve the therapeutic effect, thus reducing the using times of IPL, reduce the economic burden of the patients.All patients were from Guangzhou university of TCM hospital dermatological Zhongshan hospital outpatients, at the age of 18-35, men and women, was based on a voluntary basis, researchers can be divided into three groups. IPL group: Treating with the U. S. imported StarLaxTM 8 elements of acne treatment (LuxV). Herbal mask group:Treating with the herbal mask which is made by Zhongshan hospital of TCM. IPL with herbal mask group:Based on every IPL treatment, 3 days later, nursing by the herbal mask. Observe 3 groups of the clinical efficacy of treatment,3 groups in the effect-acting period, Observe 3 groups before and after the treatment of inflammatory damage and facial quantity and extent of inflammatory damage. During the research, we record any adverse events, and analyse the reasons.ResultsThree groups of patients with age, sex, course and acne severity compare, there are no significant difference, comparable. After a period of clinical curative treatment, IPL group and IPL with herbal mask group in the early period (＜4 weeks) effect similar (P>0.05), no significant difference, but for the herbal mask group (P< 0.05). With the increasing number of therapy (5-6 weeks), herbal mask group, and the IPL group effect similar (P> 0.05), but not IPL with herbal mask group (P< 0.05). In the herbal mask group, the cure rate is not as well as IPL group or IPL with herbal mask group (P< 0.05). IPL with herbal mask treatment in 5 or 6 weeks, efficacy is obvious cure or superior efficiency IPL group (P< 0.05).3 groups were not found any adverse events, the treatment of IPL are not burn the skin (such as lupus, edema, pain continues for a long time, etc.), herbal mask the treatment of skin allergy.ConclusionsResearch results show that the IPL with herbal mask for the treatment of acne vulgaris, good and safety. In effect, the time compared with IPL group, superior similar as IPL with herbal mask group, better than pure herbal mask group. With the extension of time, the IPL with herbal mask group is superior to cure and more effective than IPL group. Therefore, IPL with herbal mask for the treatment of acne vulgaris is more effective than simply using IPL or herbal mask treatment. In order to get the same or better treatment effect, IPL with herbal mask can shorten the premise of treatment period, which can reduce the using times of IPL, reduce the economic burden of the patients. The treatments worth popularizing clinically.
