ObjectiveTo estimate if hysteroscopy is effective clinical means in gynecological disease.Methods521 patients with abnormal uterine bleeding were examined, underwent biopsy anddiagnostic curettage with hysteroscopy from march 2002 to december 2008.ResultsHysteroscopic diagnosis can be clearly identified in 476 cases, accounting for 91.4%, after hysteroscopic diagnosis and pathological examination in line with the rate of 77.7%. Hysteroscopic diagnosis can be identified in 231 cases of endometrial polyps,118 cases of endometrial hyperplasia,44 cases of submucous myoma,20 cases of endometrial carcinoma,12 cases of endometritis,45 cases of pregnancy-related diseases, and postoperative pathological examination in line with the rates were 87.7%,81.2%,95.5%,80%,75%,97.8%. In addition, all the 17 cases of abnormalities of the IUD and 12 cases of metrosynizesis are iud removal and dredged successfully under the hysteroscopy. The incidence of endometrial cancer, endometrial polyps, endometritis were significantly different (p<0.05) in Premenopausal and postmenopausal women, negative predictive value of endometrial cancer in premenopausal women is higher (p<0.05).ConclusionWe can check the lesions under direct vision, drawing materials positioning, get the high diagnosis accuracy by hysteroscopy which is an irreplaceable examination method to look for the pathogeny of abnormal uterine bleeding, but the hysteroscopic check cannot replace endometrial histopathology.
