Expression And Significance Of Fascin And P27 In Gallbladder Cancer

ObjectiveTo observe the expression of Fascin and p27 in gallbladder cancer and cholesterol polyp, analyse its correlation with tumor grade, clinical stage, tumor size, and the expression of P27in gallbladder cancer.MethodsA total of 30 patients with gallbladder cancer treated at the Department of general surgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University between 2007 and 2009 were included into the study. All specimens were fixed in 10% formalin, embedded in paraffin, and cut into 4μm serial sections. Immunohistochemistry was used to observe the expression of Fascin, P27 in 30 tissues of gallbladder cancer and 30 cholesterol polyp. The relationship between the expression of Fascin and clinicopathlogical parameters, expression of P27 were analysed stastically.ResultOverall, Non-Fascin expression was found in normal cholesterol polyp.30 in cases of gallbladder cancer specimens show positive Fascin expression. The expression of Fascin in cholesterol polyp and carcinoma tissues have an difference (P<0.001). The expression of Fascin is positively connected with clinical stage(P=0.001), Lymphatic metastasis(P=0.011), expression of p27(P=0.001), and has no connection with age, sex, tumor grade (P>0.05).ComclusionFascin protein and increased expression of P27 in gallbladder carcinoma and its expression and the growth of the gallbladder, is closely related to malignant progression.Fascin protein can be used as a molecular marker of gallbladder carcinoma, the joint detection of P27 can be used for early diagnosis of gallbladder cancer, malignant evaluation and prognosis, and may become a new target for molecular targeted therapy of gallbladder carcinoma...
