Objective:To establish the auricular phlebitis model of rabbits by intravenous infusion of Vincristine. To evaluate the effects of administration methods in Vincristine-Induced Phlebitis. Methods:â‘ Vincristine was intravenously administered by different doses and venipuncture directions. And then contrasted the difference of the phlebitis happening and analyzed the pathological features of the different groups; according to establish a chemotherapy phlebitis model by the using drug.â‘¡Rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups:a rapid and low-volume group, a rapid and high-volume group, a slow and low-volume group, and a slow and high-volume group. After examination we evaluated the effects of the different infusion speed and the diluent volumes on the degrees of phlebitis. Results:â‘ The incidence of chemotherapy induced phlebitis and death rate showed remarkable increased as the doses of Vincristine were raised. Obviously erythema in site of venipuncture, oedema, and streak formation and a palpable stiff cord were shown in group which received 0.20mg/kg VCR injection. Pathological examination also showed phlebitis changes like proliferation of endothelium, inflammatory cell infiltration, and perivascular edema in this group, but in the control group did not show the similar changes. Under circumstance of the same drug dose, the extent of vascular injury in the retrogressive venipuncture group was more serious than in the direct motion venipuncture group, it had statistical significance.â‘¡Different infusion speed and diluent volumes got different results of vascular injury. The most serious vascular injury was caused by the slow and low-volume group, the most slightest vascular injury was caused by the rapid and low-volume group, it had statistical significance. Conclusion:â‘ It is reasonable to set up the model by infusing the dose of vincristine (0.20mg/kg) and retrogressive venipuncture direction, meanwhile controlling the diluent volume as 10ml and the infusion speed as 0.5ml/min.â‘¡The incidence and severity of chemotherapy induced phlebitis can be effectively reduced in a manner of rapid and low-volume infusion.
